His fans kept talking about how he's set for life, bragged about his money on an on, used it to justify his bad behavior.
Some of us reminded these folks that Mike Tyson made $300 million in his career and still ended up bankrupt... and that Conor needs to stay humble and work.
Conor was worth a lot of money, and he had the ability to earn: The UFC would have ended up paying him something like 30million I believe. There was also the Mayweather-to-mma thing where if it had been Conor, it could have been another gigantic payday.
Now, instead, Conor is likely going to have his license suspended. He's going to face legal consequences... and he is going to get sued by many parties, and likely the UFC too.
All his leverage is gone. He is going to be losing a LOT of money in settlements and fines... and he probably won't be able to fight for a while. When he does return, the UFC won't even give him the same money they're giving him today: They can certainly sue him for how he affected their event and injured their fighters etc etc... probably get good money from him, or in the end settle out of court where Conor has to sign a new deal which will include less money in order for the UFC to not press charges.
This will hurt his brand, sponsorships, he has become a liability.
This, folks, is why you simply cannot take anything for granted.
Conor went from "King of the World", to handcuffs and a public disgrace... in 1 day
