Social 'Ye is cancelled

LMAO apparently he went to sketcher's offices and got thrown out.

kanye west has been getting cancelled by pretty much everything, but now kanye west just did a bit of cancelling

those spoiled rich kids probably won't be getting any refunds on their tuition either.

i hear kanye showed up uninvited to Wendy's headquarters but was immediately escorted out.

So a cancel culture hashtag was trending. This is exactly what I'm criticizing.

I can find no story about Manchester United demanding Adidas end their corporate sponsorship with Kanye.

"Cancel culture" is just a copout strawman.

I find it hilarious that you made a post bitching about cancel culture not allowing the free markets to decide, when that is exactly what is happening.

You and every other person that complains about cancel culture is just mad that common, ordinary people, are able to organize or come together and share their own opinion about a certain product or person as consumers.

Are you mad that things like Yelp exists?

And lol @ShadowRun saying that he defends Kanye because of "free speech"....so Kayne deserves the freedom to say whatever he wants, but consumers don't have the freedom to express their concern via social media?

Face it, the Internet and Social Media have given voice to large swaths of people with a common interest. That they can get together and #hashtag and express an opinion about something that might influence a corporation's decisions is about as capitalistic as it gets.

Calling it cancel culture and fascism tells me that both of you haven't really thought this through.

I accept your concession that even though you know I am correct, you're too stupid and emotional to form a reasonable argument and thus must resort to idiotic ad hominems.

So go on being outraged at "cancel culture" like your teen girl emotions direct that you should. Puberty will come soon, and along with that some testosterone which should help mellow out your tendencies to consume outrage porn 24/7.

Perhaps, if you would have formed a reasonable counter argument, I may have changed my mind and said "I didn't think of it like that". But you can't, or won't, so all we are left with is you blowing a bunch of hot air.

jesus, what a disjointed tantrum.

This is just you saying that you don't have a reasonable counter argument to anything I posted.

Great job. Way to really put me in my place and show me what's up!
chill bro, i'm not really reading what you post.

lighten up y’all, this is just the latest “anti-semetic” rant that leads to fake outrage

For the 147th time...how did the "free market" decide? What role did consumers play?

the consumers of adidas’s products decided to voice their plan to boycott publicly and
let adidas decide where to go from there. They decided to communicate to the company how the company’s decisions could impact their consumerism going forward. This is obvious.

What a stupid take, yea pitch fork mob mentality is the will of the people Salem witch trial style. Cancel Dave Chappell he’s evil !
I made the point of not consumers but company’s there’s a difference between I won’t by Ye sneakers to a company trying to act like moral police. There are people that sit on Twitter and can’t wait to feel the power of canceling someone because their life sucks.

So what the working formula for a quota for that to take place ? It didn’t happen withNetflix and chappele. So if I get enough people angry in my town at the bakery for make wedding cakes for gays and they say they will stop this that is ok ?

That’s a case by case basis the board of executives can decide with countless factors. When has there ever been some quota all businesses have to base their corporate partnerships on? That’s a weird question because there’s never been a “quota” or formula.

The example of the bakery is pretty different as you are talking about customers being served, not business partnerships being terminated, but if you look at the recent Supreme Court case then yes, someone could legally choose not to make a gay wedding cake.
