She's not wrong. Let's see if Carla can use it as motivation. I don't think it'll help her though.

She'd definitely have earned it or carla, for the rematch angle I'd to see rose even the score with carla more.

It is wrong. Carla is a CHAMP which is something Xiaonan Can will never be; and about to get her second bite at the cherry....

Carla earned her contender spot the hard way, beating very legit fighters and gradually, begrudgingly being moved up the rankings, while Xiaonan got the 'China market fast track' ranking after beating up a couple of washed-up fighers (after a lucky dec over Cangela Hill)... she'd have several L's if she had to fight Grasso, Jandiroba, Rodriguez... maybe even could Waterson would beat her.

'Yan will prevail against the anti asian racism that Weili had to endure from Rose and the hick Florida crowd.'

    What a load of bollocks!

It's only racism if the fighter you wanted to win, actually lost. So it seems.

I would love to see Rose against either Yan (fresh match-up) or Carla (revenge for her loss years ago).

Idk if you can call her a legitimate champ considering it was TUF and the first fight she had outside TUF she got TKO by the 115 lbs goat who was uncrowned

To be fair Carla was the Invicta Straweight champion—the top SW title in the world at the time— and UFC basically imported the division.

Her being the first UFC SW champion is as legit as Ronda and Aldo being handed the title the day they signed with the company

The main difference being that Aldo and Ronda ran the division for years afterwards

You could argue it's more legit, since she had to win a tournament that was made up of the best of the best of the division at that time (not a 'normal' TUF of up-and-comers hoping to make it to first base in the UFC) rather than just being given the belt defacto.

The only 'missing names' going in were JAG (who turned out to be at can level when she finally fought in the UFC) and Gadelha.

Joanna was pretty unknown and had only recently moved down to 115 from 125 at the time (I think she made that move after that TUF was filmed in fact)...

I admire Carla despite her underwhelming latest three wins because she's super small for that division but still manages to be a top 10 fighter (plus her wins against Rodriguez and Calvilo were unanimous decisions).

Just because you don’t have a long reign doesn’t mean you weren’t a legitimate champion
