Just for you buddy...well you and anyone else who reads it...since I have the morning off from all of my jobs, I'm doing a GAB review!
This show begins with Tony D. We're off to a fantastic start. The D'Angelo Family vs Galus. This was a good match. The action kept going, there wasn't really anything that dragged, we got a real hot tag and in the end, Tony D has gold. I am entertained and happy...so logic and precedence tells us this show must now fall off a cliff.
Next up is a chick weapons match with Roxanne Perez in it...well there's the cliff. This sucked. Roxanne is still terrible. Her little sister sold the match better than anyone in the ring. Awful, just awful. I wouldn't wish this match on anyone who wasn't a fan of The Young Bucks.
Corbin vs Gable is next. This was ok for what it was. The NXT crowd is the absolute worst. I know trying to make Gable into Angle Jr is a lame idea (the man is a natural cocky asshat, keep him in his lane), but for fuck sake! Cheering for Baron Corbin? These people have hit a new low. Gable's still shaky, but the raw ability is there. Should have went right to the brawl 2 minutes in...or done this on the regular show.
Dominik vs Spot Monkey Lee vs Spot Monkey Ali: This was boring. Rhea beating up dudes is dumb...even tiny Wes Lee would starch her in less than 30 seconds. Dominik is the definition of change the channel heat. I got bored and checked emails.
Tiffany vs Thea: This wasn't very good either...except for Tiffany's shorts...those were exceptional. This gimmick was a terrible idea for two chicks. Stratton struggled a lot with the Boston Crab...which was both ridiculously and yet fantastic due to the camera angles. Not good.
Melo vs Dragunov: I still understand the appeal of Melo. He's so bland and boring. This match was too long. It just dragged on with no sense of drama or really anything. They kinda flubbed the finish. It looked like Trick both forget to act like he pushed Melo out of the way and forgot to stick the belt up so it looked like Dragunov hit it. Whatever...is was there and wasn't awful...but it wasn't good either.
Bland end to a show that started out fun. I see nothing has changed with how NXT books most of their shows. Time for breakfast.
