All these guys said EXACTLY the same thing pre McGregor v Alvarez.

When are people going to learn..?

Elite MMA striking will reign supreme as the #1 UFC 2018 skill set.

Yes, that's why i keep insisting barboza is going to destroy khabib. His grappling will be useless against edson's elite MMA striking.

When will they learn?

too many unknowns as Chael mentioned

I haven't a clue who takes this one but hope Ngannou wins

I was going to bet my house on Jorge Masvidal - one of the best boxers in the UFC - to beat Demian Maia, because elite MMA striking reigns supreme as the #1 UFC 2018 skill set, but foolishly I decided against it.

Except Stipe also has good striking and KO power. His wrestling is a plus, not his only way to victory in this fight. If Ngannou gasses and Stipe can mix it up itll be a long night for Ngannou. Stipe has 4 first round KO finishes in a row over all time greats of the HW division, not sure why youre comparing him to Alvarez lol

Foolish man, you could have been rolling in money. Elite MMA striking wins every time.

I made all my fortune betting on JDS vs Cain in the second and third fight.

I have a feeling OP is right.

If Francis can push Overeem around in the clinch by virtue of raw power he should be able to scuff off Stipe's grappling since the size/strength difference between Stipe & Ngannou is more dramatic than it was between Reem & Ngannou.

No problem...I made a small fortune in 2013, and have invested well. I bet everything I had on Crocop - one of the elite strikers in MMA history - to beat Oleksiy Oliynyk, that Ezekial choke guy who has no stand up game. The outcome was so obvious. Easy money.

Maybe he means power when he says "elite MMA striking" and cause its worked so far...i dont know

I do know that ive never seen ngannou establish a jab and he always becomes super rigid and upright when he wings punches(body languages is obviously saying he's putting everything behind his punches)

He doesnt flow when he punches nor does demonstrate technique and he never stick n moves

Basically he's ripe for the picking for a technician like stipe if he shows up in form to not dick around

This is wide looping punches vs short and tight puncher that moves alot

Still not sure what francis was learning in the boxing gym within that 9 years....i understand he had to work to survive and was homeless but he should have been corrected at day 1....that brute force/winging power shit cant work on everybody

Well good thing Stipe is good at more than just wrestling..

I'm still 50/50 on this pick. I think Stipe's wrestling abilities are being slightly over hyped. Ngannou's striking is also being overhyped. Too many unknowns with Ngannou, but we know he has incredible power. Stipe has good power too and a bit more technical boxing, but he gets hit a lot. Stipe also leaves his hands down, stands straight up and doesn't have the best movement. Ngannou's grappling is an unknown, but we've seen his ability to get up off of his back against a solid wrestler. Ngannou wings his punches and leaves his hands low. Ngannou seems to be a bit more athletic than Stipe and has quicker reflexes. Experience to Stipe. Tough pick! I hope Ngannou wins though to shake the division up a bit.

It can certainly help Stipe in this fight, both in keeping Francis guessing and scoring points, but Francis is too good to be beat solely by wrestling. Stipe is going to have to show up standing too.
