Disregarding combat speeds should be ban worthy.

Yes, a lot of people use wrestling shoes in BJJ and submission wrestling for better grip and ankle support. Between the Asics Cael V6, V7, and Snapdowns, the Cael V7 offers the best combination of support and durability, while the V6 is more flexible and broken-in right out of the box. The Snapdowns are a solid budget option but don’t feel as premium. If you're training regularly, go with the Cael V7.

Not in submission grappling because our club doesn't allow them, but my all-time favorite wrestling shoe was the Asics Aggressor 4. Good ankle suppoert, lots of traction all the way around the sole. Their only problem was with very wet mats, that's where other shoes are way better - especially Sambo shoes with their leather-only soles.

Are you just looking for grip or you need ankle support? I bought these neoprene socks with rubber coating on the bottom. There is no ankle support but I didn't need it. I had a hole on the bottom of my foot and I just wanted to cover it.
