soild rubber sole vs. split rubber and leather sole wrestling shoes? pros and cons...

The idea behind the split sole was that it would allow the shoe to be more flexible, but still have grip in the important areas. But the split is somewhere near the middle of the shoe and your foot doesn't bend there. Your foot only bends at the ankle and toes, not in the middle.

Most of the current Asics don't have the split sole, so I think they have realized it doesn't make a difference. Just get whatever shoe is most comfortable to you in the price range you want to spend. I think the split sole was just a marketing feature that doesn't really do anything.

As someone that has wrestled for 12 years and coached for a few, here are the best choices, my opinion

As another poster mentioed, Cael's are great Asics shoes, I have 2 pairs of the first version. cant go wrong.

A while back, someone was looking for low cut wrestling shoes. This is a great deal if they have your size. I wanted the red ones, but sadly, they're out of stock in my size. Whizzers are what Uma Thurman wore when she went off on the Crazy 88's.

You can on Ebay, but they're much pricier and typically ship from Japan, I think.
