I thought bj had already choked him out by thenWasn't Gomi the top ranked LW at the time they fought? Like, he was even thought of higher than Penn at the time I thought.
Back then people were arguing like crazy over who the #1 was - Gomi or PennWasn't Gomi the top ranked LW at the time they fought? Like, he was even thought of higher than Penn at the time I thought.
Gomi's one of the reasons why BJ Penn was considered the P4P best fighter at the time. Going through the best WW, LW and then winning fights at MW. Going the distance with a heavyweight MachidaYou should start a thread in the World Wide Discussion about how Gomi is not a top fighter
I'm sure it will go over well
He went on the biggest run of his career after thatI thought bj had already choked him out by then
Too bad Bj was a spoiled trust fund kid. He could have been even better than he was.Gomi's one of the reasons why BJ Penn was considered the P4P best fighter at the time. Going through the best WW, LW and then winning fights at MW. Going the distance with a heavyweight Machida![]()

Gomi not a top fighter? Lmao
Penn had beaten Gomi already yeah but the level of comp Gomi was facing, and rofl-stomping at the time was thought as better than what Penn was doing so like Cubicle said, there was an argument ot be made and could be believed that Gomi was the best at the time.I thought bj had already choked him out by then
I'm not in the boat that Nick Diaz is some over-rated average fighter. But by the same token I can admit that I do think the guy gets hyped up a little too much given his track record when he starts fighting top opponents like GSP and others.Back then people were arguing like crazy over who the #1 was - Gomi or Penn
Okay I haven’t watched him fight, other than the Diaz fight. But Pride was a shady org.
Pride wasn’t gonna fix a top Japanese star to get finished by Diaz.Okay I haven’t watched him fight, other than the Diaz fight. But Pride was a shady org.

iirc fireball kid was usually favored but then again it was basically a pride vs ufc topic at the same time.

He still didn't win so does it matter? His track record of molly whooping opponents but not getting the decision?
I have the Rumble on the rock DVD with that fight. I'm gonna watch it tonightHe went on the biggest run of his career after that
It is not their fault the judges are retardedHe still didn't win so does it matter?
That's my biggest gripe with both Diaz brothers. They've got talent but instead of realizing the "block punches with my face is MAYBE why I keep losing" strategy and changing it up to use their skills to win within the confines of how the sport is now they throw fits "that's not real fighting" and bitch and moan when they lose a decision when EVEN times I wanted to win I was like "they ain't GOING to win though cause they won't fight in a way that scores points".
If that is the same one that had Silva vs Okami ?I have the Rumble on the rock DVD with that fight. I'm gonna watch it tonight
