I remember just briefly reading a bit about the relationship between Muslim organizations and scholars to the Indian independence movement and I was surprised at how many were against partition. Seems like the more traditionally oriented they were, the more they were against partition such that the support for partition came mostly from Westernized, secular Muslims.
This was a lazy shit poll but I had just woken up and @Sara was threatening to make the next one with no links. I had to be fast for the group.
Not a bad poll, I'm just really biased towards elephants because they are just so awesome. 10,000 geese are a great option too though, that's an insane level of intimidation. I think even the elephant might run.

This actually reminds me of a story that's in the Qur'an.
Ababil means a flock of birds. It refers to the miraculous birds in Islamic belief mentioned in Sura 105 of the Quran that protected the Kaaba in Mecca from the Aksumite elephant army of Abraha, then self-styled governor of Himyar, by dropping small clay stones on them as they approached. In the translation of sahih international, the phrase "tayran abābīl(a)"(طَيْرًا أَبَابِيلَ) is translated as "Birds in flocks" that is mentioned in the verse 105:3.

The event is said to have occurred in 570, the year that the Islamic prophet Muhammad was born.
So maybe I should've picked the 10,000 geese after all.

What's funny is I always drop a hidden puzzle in these polls. Like the mind reading language super power where people figured out they could make billions playing poker etc.

The Goose all quacking and making noise would most likely scare off the elephant and possibly the other choices as well lmao.

I'm convinced, changed my vote.

Obviously depends on the specific case. The Turks had their war of liberation against the French and of course their oppression of the Kurds is a textbook case of the horrors of ethnonationalism. But then your namesake's independence movement in India had a much more inclusive vision.

Agree it just becomes right wing in my mind when it goes tribal. Socialism has a different set of justifications/rationalizations as nationalism, even if they can co-exist and overlap in practice, especially in the face of imperialism.

Thumbs are great for fighting, ask Sean !!!

might be hard to ask him
