Not to bud in, but from my POV you are right wing. Separating out people by ethnic / racial groups to form nations is as right wing as it gets. It stresses the need for / support for cultural uniformity and hierarchy. I guess you could argue that you arrived at the result via some liberal methodology of empiricism but it’s not a liberal result. I may be misrepresenting you but thats what I recall in any event.

I don't disagree with your assessment of him necessarily but its interesting to note that the post-colonial nationalist movements of the 20th century were always framed as liberation movements against colonialist subjugation. Now to be fair in many cases those "liberation" movements replaced colonial oppression with national level oppression but the point is that they were in a sense left wing movements against the international imperial system of the time.

That's true, but I think it's like Trotsky's small-business thing or True Progressive defenses of Assad and Putin. Or kill-the-baby leftists. People mistake aversions and affinities for ideological thought. If you think through the implications of cultural relativism or ethno-nationalism, they're far right.
