That's a great big yes from me. I got out of rehab about 8 months ago and I've made a very conscious effort to avoid negative interactions or to start throwing insults. This has led to me walking away from the computer more than once. On the negative side my posting since rehab is perhaps more shallow or flippant than it could be and not comprehensively representative of my personality but for now I'll take the tradeoff.

My post the other day about immigration (I believe this is an important issue to you(?)) was about as "serious" as I've been getting and I even ended that with a wisecrack to lighten the tone.

Congrats on the positive moves. One step at a time and all that. Or, whatever works for you.

And yeah, staying away from whatever might trigger a step backwards is a smart move. We all have issues so I totally get it when certain things set people off. That's a part of life. I actually do go for brisk walks or bust out a bunch of pushups to keep me level. Lol. Sounds primitive, but works for me.

And yeah, immigration, or rather mishandling immigration should be an important topic to everyone.

The guy made a permanent AV bet with me that Clinton would be convicted of something (IIRC), and then got so pissed about the AV I gave him, he left the site forever. I think that's a sign that he was pretty sincere.

Theoretically, an opinion on that should be independent of ideological leaning, but in practice, only partisan loons thought that arresting someone for not being careful enough with email security was reasonable or something that would really happen.
