Some kind of blue by Miles Davis is one of my favourite albums of all time.

Miles Davis is definitely the best musician on the list. He inspired just about everyone else on there. He has so many good albums from the 50s to the 70s, but he went to shit after the mid-70s. I really like Kind of Blue, but I like albums like In a Silent Way and Jack Johnson more. The work he did with Miles Davis's Second Great Quintet (Wayne Shorter, Tony Williams, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter) is great music.

Do you listen to Jazz pianist Bill Evans? Miles said Bill Evans inspired him the most. Evans was the pianist on Kind of Blue.

Aye, there is a difference between singer/performer/musician/etc. Guys like Michael Jackson or James Brown don't count, because even though they could hypothetically play, there is no proof of it.

Prince was a virtuoso at everything he did. His talent was overshadowed by his musical taste, imo.
Pretty sure MJ communicated his musical ideas verbally, not sure about Brown.

Just wanted to say that's a very interesting way of describing Prince. I might have to think about it for a minute but I think I like it.

MJ could play piano. He grew up with a family of musicians, I'm sure he picked up a thing or two. He wrote his own songs, and Quincy says he witnessed him write many of them at his grand. But there is no actual video AFAIK.

It's weird, there are a lot of pictures of him at a piano, but no videos.

OK thanks that makes sense. I think I got some bad info from a documentary or I was bombed when I saw it or something.

and she's a celebritard and black, which makes her a part of most protected class in the US

Re: Chrissy Teigen lol.

Wasn't in support of @Deorum's thread title, but I wonder what kind of a vile shit collage you could put together from stuff around here if you really tried.

The best thing to come from COVID is contact-less delivery
I think the question of the best thing to come of COVID is a great thread or poll topic.

Options could include (though are not limited to):
The obvious effect mask use has had on flu season;
Recognition of the importance of and how poorly paid are customer facing workers;
Proof the MRNA tech works as advertised--it's an exciting innovation;
Letting us know in no uncertain terms which provinces and states are capable of acting in the best interests if their constituents by following the advice of medical professionals and which ones are beholden to their base to the exclusion of the best interests of all citizens.

Very few options in the poll are actually musicians.
Miles could play the trumpet and the piano.
Prince could play the piano and the guitar.
I don't think Coltrane played anything but sax.
And I think Jimmy only played guitar.
Toss up between Miles and Prince. How can you choose between those two?
So I went with "other": Lil Wayne (Newton)
As if there was ever a doubt.
