Fair enough, but, put me in a room where all I can watch day in and day out for a year is whatever boxing matches I name, I’ll mostly take the bouts from those 80’s and 90’s fighters.
Definitely some gems to choose from. Barrera-Morales 1 & 3, Tyson-Holyfield 1, Trinidad-Vargas, Duran-Barkley, Hagler-Hearns, Bowe-Golota, Leonard-Duran 1, and so much more.
I remember phoning up my old man telling him Douglas kayoed Tyson and he called me back like a couple mins later asking if I heard right, he was in such disbelief.
All that said, the earlier years are let down a bit by worse footage and lack of crowd noise and audio that really makes you feel the gravity of what was going on; but a lot of fights were absolute wars with battle of will being the difference which is always the most compelling. Obviously when top fighters are going at it the probability of the knockout goes down, and so many of those fights were 15 round wars.
Which is evidence by the hall of fame records / low kayo ratios in the golden age of Lamotta, Basilio, Cerdan, Fullmer etc. Even SRR who in my view had the handspeed of a Roy Jones Jr combined with the power of Gennady Golovkin only won by knockout a little over half his fights. Robinson won the vast vast majority of his amateur fights by knockout though and record is hampered by fighting bigger men a good chunk of his career.
I would give my left arm to have been alive at that time and have the TV tech we do now. People had to listen to those fights on the radio; what a shame.
That was a very sloppy fight. As odd as it may sound, I don't think Lewis trained too hard for that fight. Klitschko gave him the business early then Lewis started coming on, but it was really really sloppy. But a lot of sloppy telegraphed punches and heavy breathing early,
Lewis was pretty fucking savage when he felt he had something to prove. He turned in some bum performances when he got arrogant, like against Rahman. He looked like a tub-a-lard in that first fight, and was a completely different fighter in the rematch.

The dude got "stopped" ONCE in 201 professional fights spanning a quarter century, against a HOF caliber reigning Light Heavyweight Champion. SRR's power increased in both a literal and relative sense once his frame filled out a little more. There was very little actually 'sweet' about him, he was a fucking savage man and absolutely brutalized people during his illustrious past-prime middleweight run. I always described him as "Puncher-Boxer" rather than the inverse.

So..... he as an adult is not responsible for his actions? Either he as an adult is in need of real psychological help or..... he needs to be a big boy and face the consequences of his actions

Any of you play fantasy football ? Late round QBs- safford , burrow , donald , Fitzpatrick* ( how do you rank them? Find myself being able to make strong cases for each)
*if you don't think fitz puts up quality numbers for fantasy (considering his adp is late 12th/ early 13th ... don't bother chiming in)

Violence/Genocide: Do not condone violence or genocide on a person or group of people. You are free to attack a person or groups ideas but you are crossing the line when calling for violence. This will be heavily enforced in threads with breaking news involving victims.
