When Phil started his Housecore label he needed manufacturing and distribution, so Relapse did a deal with him. The big appeal was the Superjoint record. Well, shortly after the ink dried he pulled the band off the label and took a huge advance from some other label. So we (Relapse) were left with a couple records that nobody cared about. One of which was an EP (Southern Isolation) by his girlfriend. I really liked the record, but sales were not brisk. Deal fell apart pretty soon after.

Before Phil pulled the SR record, bunch of us from the label went to see them play in NJ somewhere. Don't remember much except Phil sounding like a dummy with his between song banter. The line the sticks in my head 20 years later is "The world needs a band like Superjoint.". lol
