I find Christianity more dangerous here. Islam is an archaic ideology so in contrast with established norms in the west, it’s still viewed as “different and outdated”. Child brides, no pork, praying at certain times in certain directions, those will never become a regular part of society here like Christmas has.

Christianity enjoys a reputation of goodwill and peace here, despite being nothing different fundamentally. It’s literally in the DNA of our society, yet it still produces dangerous and disgusting mindsets. Only Christianity provides an out for the vileness.

It’s basically like 2 monsters outside your door, only one looks like your mom, and one looks like Frankenstein’s monster. The one more likely to do serious damage is the one you willingly invite in.

It’s the same reason ripskater was considered “a nice polite guy” while he was simultaneously justifying the nuking of millions of innocent people and telling everyone the politicians he disagreed with were actual demons.

If an openly Islamic member said those same things we’d call it par for the course and ostracize them. But rip managed to maintain a rep of being “nice” while doing it. Goes to show how different the religions are viewed.

Nope. Why did you think I was? I was actually using them to display the direct contrast that leads to Christianity being accepted while it’s dangerous elements are overlooked. Things like sharia law are the reason Islam will never enjoy the same prevalence in the West.
