must be a glitch in the matrix: The guy who lost to Cowboy and struggled against Giblert and Pettis stopped the guy who destroyed Benson, Nate, Pettis and Cowboy. Crazy world. But everybody can get caught and you gotta admire the confidence he displayed before the fight and in the cage.

Eddie was severely underrated. It took him some time to find his UFC groove. Remember he is the first in History Bellator and UFC champ.

Rda might have been handicapped by the new testing procedures. Not saying he was, but it's a possibility.

It was a fluke

I think so too. RDA wins 9/10 but that was a shocker - after a year of upsets: I got seriously surprised by Meisha beating Holm, Conor beating Aldo, Stipe beating Werdum, Rockhold beating Weidman and then ofc Bisping beating Rockhold. Exciting year. Even when my guys almost always lose lol

Conor KO'd Aldo in 13 secs and then lost to Diaz. MMA wont let us have nice things.

Every single current UFC champ couldve claimed the same if they were allowed to fight in Bellator.

That doesn't suddenly make Eddie amazing.

However he did do a beast job in his last fight

Old Eddie fought RDA, besides it only takes one good punch to put someone into "queer street" and he did it, i didnt saw him getting the belt considering his UFC run, as i even thought Pettis won that fight, but i also cant see him defending that belt for too long, back in Bellator he had ups and downs too.

Nurmagomedov, Diaz, Cowboy, and Will Brooks would all be great fights for him. I don't know if he would beat any of them, but I hope his fights look more like the ones in Bellator and against RDA than the ones against Melendez and Pettis.

Anjos got destroyed by Guida and Stephens, lost to Tibau and Khabib. Lets not act like Alvarez somehow can't improve while Dos Anjos clearly has.

He is the FIRST in history to do it. If it was so easy it would have been done before.

But except Khabib that's really ancient. Eddie's mediocre performances are much more recent. He almost lost (for me he did) against Pettis who looked like a mere shell of his former self.

Or maybe current UFC champs wouldn't bother going to Bellator when they are being laid and under contract in UFC.

eddies performance was clearly the highlight of this weekend.

that shit should have been on ufc 200.

Styles make fights. Rda was more aggressive than Pettis and Cerrone, so he became closer to Alvarez. Cerrone used his reach better, while RDA was within boxing range, which is Eddie's sharpest tool. Gilbert has similar tools so they canceled out more. No fluke. Rda allowed Eddie his best opportunity. Like Eddie said in the press conference, it could have easily gone the other way, but Eddie better implemented his best tools.

It's MMA, everyone has a puncher's chance. Beating the best fighter doesn't make you the best, beating all the fighters in your division does, which is what makes title shots like Alvarez and Bisping's meaningless
