Really despicable con artists to use disabled vets to line their own pockets.

Are there any charities that don't do shady shit?

They have a better direct-aid / administrative expense ratio than the Clinton Family Foundation - but that ain't saying much.

I have often wondered why there are so many different charities. Just give to the DAV. 98% of the money goes to the programs.

Apparently they start these just so they can set themselves up as officers and collect a paycheck.

Cotnributors have to check these out better.

No real evidence of wrongdoing cited in that article except a ~3,000,000 retreat for 500 people. obviously that's not money well spent, but it's not Enron level sleaziness.

And like this is going to change anything. They'll put 2 new people in power, mind their p's and q's for awhile and end up in the same spot.

That susan b comen charity is even worse.
Too many people making money out of others misfortunes

I'm not a big proponent of violence, but I do sometimes think that people who get rich off 'charities' - and there are many - should maybe have their legs used as practice for the oblique kick by the entirety of Team Jackson/Winkeljohn.

Nothing really rustles me too much. But I am a bit rustled. It's the reason I always never donate to charities like all that Breast Cancer and American Heart health shit. Not because I'm a heartless douche, but because I know my money would be going to fund these douchebags vacations. Same for the gayass commercials about the starving kids and sad puppy dogs. I'd bet my left nut that they're doing the same.

Again, yes starving kids and sad puppy dogs does make me have a sad. But it's just how they present these things in a way that manipulates people which I find pretty scummy. Pretty low shit to take advantage of the human condition. And for that I remain a skeptical dog. meme.

The moral of the story? Never do anything good for anyone.

I've been warning fellow vets about them for the past year or so. They've even sued other charities, essentially taking out their "competitors".

Put Paul Newman foundation in charge. He is gone I know but 87 percent of money raised directly goes to helping people. Only Catholic Charities and a few more exceed this number. His daughter now runs the charity. His daughter should take over or Bill Gates foundation if it's even possible. These people know how to direct charitable giving without controversy.

War, poverty, sickness is big business.

Our economic structure would not function, as it is, without it.

I'm optimistic though:)

Newman's Own doesn't make a profit. Although, their CEO or whatever could give himself a raise... But I still like the idea behind no profit.
