Would you watch TUF if it had current fighters on the roster participating?

Its probably too much to ask, and I know they did it with the smaller guys to find a contender for DJ, but imagine how great it would be. You could have match ups you would never get to see, with guys from a variety of weight classes all coming together to meet in the middle, say at 185 lbs. The in house drama would make for good viewing, with more established stars bringing their egos with them, but the fights themselves would be the main draw. It’s worth noting that they did the Redemption thing, but those fighters were over the hill and fighting for nothing. In this instance, they would be fighting for pride, and to claim they’re the best current p4p fighter (and able to provide a semblance of evidence) You could even add a title shot to the end of it, but those are pretty worthless at this point. Thoughts?

No, TUF needs to go. Looking For A Fight is a much better concept and allows the UFC to spotlight regional shows and local talent. The Ultimate Fighter catapulted Zuffa into the mainstream, but it's time to say goodbye now. The reality TV era is essentially gone now. How many established fighters want to have to make weight every few weeks? How many of them want to be away from their families and away from their camps? I doubt you would have any takers regardless...

Jog along now, we're done with TUF!

If you can rack up posts on sherdog then your time is certainly not that limited to watch TUF. I watch TUF regardless. If you skip commercials its like 45 minutes. Admittedly I hit a button that skips 30 seconds forward a lot during the show. If shit gets boring I can get through an episode in less than 30

I would love to see a season of TUF where the contestants are guys on the chopping block. For every fighter that loses, their contract is terminated. Essentially, a last man standing scenario.

I think i stopped eatching on season 4 maybe 5.. the one with rampage.. i honestly cant watch any reality tv anymore.. its just crap.

Wouldn't work, if you stuck a bunch of established killers in a house together to fight each other no one would make it out alive.........on second thoughts, let them bang bro.

Yeah probably

Hell I'll watch most Tuf as long as it's not women or midgits

If you're including older fighters like the vets and legends then they don't need to be wasting their time in exhibition marches, or they're health if end up in wars or get KO'd.

Also, being on a reality show to prove they're the best P4P and maybe get a title shot? That's exactly what the rankings are supposed to do currently. That's like they're entire point of existence. You're just asking for more drama instead of actual substance.

Edit: on top of that, you're asking for fighters to change weight classes to move to 185. They won't do that. Especially for fights that don't even go on their record. Plus, title shot for what? 185? If the fighters wanted to go up 15 pounds or down 20 then they would do that now to get a title shot without having to be on a reality show.

i doubt current ufc fighters would want to cut weight 3-4 times during the 6 weeks it takes to film the show for little to no(?) pay.

I'd watch it. But then I watch tuf anyway, fast-forward through the reality bs and just watch the training and fights

what they SHOULD do is start doing tournaments to get people into the top 15 and scrap the reality tv aspects of it and instead give small segments explaining the fighters history and style

I still watch the fights, just forward through the rest. That probably wouldn't change unless it had some big names on it which will never happen.

I couldn't make it through the 'live' season with Dom and Faber. Have not watched since. Should have stopped a long time before that.

I really liked the Serra/Lytle season when they brought in vets. Seeing Krause on there last time was cool, too. I think they should definitely give guys who are already under contract the spotlight.

I watch ultimate fighter when I have the time and I prefer newcomers on tuf rather than current fighters that are proven.

If it’s a fight and it’s free I’m probably watching it

I use to watch the old ones with the OG coaches but I gotta say the redemption season made me watch again but unfortunately Jesse Taylor had to fuck it all up. I wouldn't mind something similar. I don't give a f about different countries battling each other. Would be cool to make a season with specialists. Like a group of expert grapplers and expert strikers where they are lacking in the others but are masters at one.
