Would you want to see a Poirier - McGregor 4?

justto watch mcgregor completely crumble after being knocked out a third time.

Jezuz, this thread became a sad shitshow, I outta here....

That backs up my point to a tee. It is not a question of "will you buy the fight" - heck, 95% of people here are degenerates and will pirate anyways - but "will you follow it". The haters crying now and saying "Wahhh! I will stop watching MMA if Conor rematches Dustin (after he broke his leg in a freak accident)'' will 100% watch and will also have their shite posting gif packs ready to go as soon as he loses. If he wins tho, they will cry, say it was unfair, and bombard the UFC's twitter and the forums with empty threats of how they will never buy another UFC (even tho they never buy the events) and how "UFC has lost all credibility" (as if it ever had any and Conor's rematch was the straw that finally broke the camel's back!).

There have been FAR worse things to happen in the UFC's history than Conor McGregor (1st champ-champ, still lineal FW champ, most successful athlete on planet earth in 2020) getting a rematch after he broke his leg in a freak occurrence to a man he already beat. Here is a short list of things that were as bad or worse:

- "BMF" belt
- Gus getting a TS after getting KO'd
- Matt Riddle cut for smoking weed
- Diaz banned for years over weed
- Jones failing 100 tests and then USADA having the rule book rewritten for him
- Allowing Jones to "pulse" on steroids while guys like Machida were banned for years over vitamins
- Nicco Montano being "champ"
- Journey man Jorge getting a title rematch even tho he got whooped before, never beat that fighter and was was never a champ
-Reebok power ranger outfits, depriving fighters of sponsorship money
-CM Punk getting two fights in the UFC when Fedor got none
- GDR being stripped immediately because she refused to fight Cyborg, the same fighter Ronda refused to fight while Dana applauded her
- Dana lying all the time
- Brock getting a title shot after one win and having a record of 2-1
- ESPN+ era (quantity over quality)
- Ngannou having an interim created in days after winning the title because he wanted to defend in September and not August
- Aldo calling the cops on USADA, spilling his piss and then USADA having to contact CABMMA and give them a 24 hour notice before they are going to test Brazilian fighters (same people that asked Aldo for an autograph)
- Paul Daley banned forever for cheap shotting Kos while Khabib spit on a beaten opponent, attacked innocent corner men, had his team start a riot and attacked said beaten fighter with impunity.

Just be honest, folks: if the aforementioned did not trigger you to leave MMA, then Conor rematching Dustin (title or not) will not do it. For all this talk of "Conor only had aura when whooping people", then why did his biggest PPV sales come off of losses (Khabib fight post Mayweather and Poirier 3)?

Poirier “literally” destroyed him in the last 2 fights. How much more comprehensive do you need it to be. Lol.
By that logic they never whould have fough the second time. They are both world class fighters and with the way the third fight played out I would definately watch #4, which is the question at hand. Would I favour Dustin? Yes of course.

No, that bread is stale now. Conor gets an immediate shot at the WW strap whenever he feels like it. This is not a sport where rankings matter, only PPV numbers matter and Conor is the king in that department.

This is next if he decides to come back I think.
I don’t think he gets a shot at any title at this point, he would need a good win and I can’t think of anyone good at welterweight or light weight that he can actually beat anymore.

Poirier is levels above him now. 2 comprehensive beat downs prove this. If you want to deny reality because it makes you feel better to live in a make believe world, knock yourself out.

Become? Is started out that way.

Where else would be people crying out for a 4th fight in what is clearly such a mismatch?

Honestly yeah. dustin gets another payday and I'd love to see sherdoggers heads explode. Imagine if Conor won? They'd be 2-2 and we'd have to have a 5th fight, LOL. Sherdog would shutdown like when Fabricio tapped Fedor

Anderson’s whole game is/was more advanced than Conor’s. Conor is a flash in the pan, that was marketed as a great, with the most favorable scheduling in UFC history this side of Dan Hardy. He is not in the same breath as Silva or Weidman for that matter.

That may well be. I wasn't implying McG can do as well as Silva, just disagreeing with a post that said that leg injury was an insuperable obstacle.

If Conor comes back and puts together a nice resume sure, but he doesn't deserve shit right now.

Yes, there's unanswered questions due to the ending of the 3rd, and anybody pretending otherwise is simply lying. The leg break was not something like an immediate check ala Weidman where we definitively know Dustin caused the break and not it was a freak accident, and the fact that Dustin was winning beforehand is irrelevant to whether he'd *actually* have won. There were 4 more potential rounds.

Officially it says they're 2-1 in Dustin's favour but truly it's still 1-1 (and IMO the 3rd should be a NC given the doubts of the injury). I'd like to see definitively who came out on top between them, not a freak accident ending giving Dustin the 2nd win.

That being said, no it absolutely should not immediately occur unless Dustin forgoes his title shot. Dustin is #1 contender and Conor should win a fight or two, especially when trying to come back from this injury (if he wants to return against the #1 contender though w/e but I wouldn't advise it). But if Dustin continues to ignore the title then that's on him, and he should be treated accordingly. I'd rather see Dustin/Conor 4 than Dustin/Nate if he's just going the money route.

If you believe for one second there would be a 5th fight if Conor won the 4th. You’re a rube of the highest degree. The only possible way that happens is if it’s in the contract. And even then I’d expect Conor to retire on the win and never fight again. Don’t be so naive.

There are so many options for Conor to fight, every time he loses there's so many great matchups that open up for him that excite me only for him to never even come close to those possible matchups.

Mcgregor vs Hooker, Gaethje, Chandler and even Dariush are great fights for him that not only give us glimpses of where he is currently at this point of his career but any of these are great wins that launch him right into the title fight picture, because he's Mcgregor.

I understand the appeal of the fourth fight, I understand the argument why they need to run in back cause the 3rd one ended in a freak accident, and I would definitely of course watch it with excitement. But should we really see a fourth fight when there's so much better options out there? Probably not.

With as much as you have disdain for Conor...you think he'd be able to resist being the only tandem to have a best of 5? "Greatest rivalry ever," etc. Especially if he somehow won the 4th and felt like he was rising again? And what if it were for the LW title? I don't think his ego could resist

Haha i just stated I would want to see another fight bro. Nothing make believe. I didn't even say who i think would win. No need to get all emotional, just one mans thoughts on a karate forum.

Conor's still a
