Would you say Hunt is currently in his prime?

He started at a really late age and he looks so much better than in the DREAM/K1 days

Dont see him making mistakes like that now

DId you watch the Stipe fight?

No ahaha, his holes are so obvious.

His striking is spectacular, his timing and speed is unreal for a fatboy. It's what kept him afloat so long despite his poor body structure.

He's probably past his prime, but still a danger to anyone in the HW division.

I would not. Last thing that goes is the power.

Pre JDS maybe.

Conor has holes in his game too but he's in his prime.

Skill wise in MMA, yes. Physically no, but he seems less worn than most fighters his age.

Depends what you mean by in his prime. As a fighter hes never been better. His technical mma technique and skill as well as his psyche is just on a completely different level than it ever has been before. Physically? Well compared to the average he should be about 10 years past his physical prime but who knows how he was training and eating then. Maybe hes in even better shape now at 42 then he was at 32 if he was abusing his body then.

in his book he says he's close to his last run at mma.

pretty crazy, he's fat, over 40, got beat up badly, got ko'ed, probably never took sex enhancing pills, but still kicking ass

No, he's not close to his prime. Back in the K-1 days he was throwing flying knees and leaping kicks, spinning back kicks, flying threw he air like a cannon ball and shit.

But he has become a way more precise and calculated striker over the years, and you just generally does not want to exchange with the guy, JDS got away with it due to being much faster and younger, but still got rocked with that left hook at times.

Even if Hunt was 60 years old, he's going to be just as dangerous as he was when he was 30, for the first round.

He had the best chin in mma history back in the day. Now he's just got one of the best chins. If his ground game has improved then it's not by a lot. His striking is about the same I guess. It's really hard to say. I'll go with the 06 Hunt who seemed impossible to ko or even hurt. Hunt has always had a solid ground game for those of you who don't know. Sometimes you can get him on the ground and sometimes you can't. That's the way his career has gone. I think the size of his ass and legs and the power coming from them give people a lot of problems because you really can't train for such an abnormal beast like that.

No his training got better and he became more focused.

Naw, he's just improved his training and fighting style. He is physically more worn than he was in the early 2000s but he also didn't take good care of himself back then like he does now.

The prime of his skills, but not physically prime no. No man is in his physical prime at around 40 years old, whether they win fights or not.
