It's about half of what it was in the mid 90s. And of course, the vast majority of these missing kids are either runaways or have been taken away by an estranged spouse or other family member. Abductions by complete strangers have always been rare.
What's the definition of a complete stranger? It's 2024. Everyone has different definitions nowadays.
If the definition of a complete stranger is someone that the entire family spends a combined total of 5 minutes with (in any given year), then I would agree that he or she is a complete stranger. For example, a combined total of 5 minutes in any given year would be a complete stranger that works in Starbucks or Walmart.
It doesn't necessarily have to be Starbucks. It could be any other business. For example, it could be Target.
We're on the internet. Folks on the internet often say that a gargantuan amount of kidnappings and abductions come from folks that are relatives (or folks that spend a considerable amount of time with someone in the family).

99% of the time, it's someone that you know. Isn't that what they say?
