Would you help police officer tackle suspect on the street?

You walking down the street and you see Police officer struggling with a guy he clearly try to arrest.

What would you do?

I would just walk past, 100% of time. You wont gain anything from helping other than thanks and then you risk being stabbed if that guy remembers you or his friends.

But I know people that would help. Risking health and potentially life for what?

If the suspect gets away, it's the department's fault for not training the officer correctly, or hiring fat slobs.

Exactly the reason why women should be held to the exact same physical standards as men when screening for the job, even if that means that 99% of women who apply for patrol work don't get in.

an era where you get arrested for defending your own home against armed raiders . The cops are on the side of the criminals , well the subverted top rank anyway .

You could help some street cop and then some higher up cop decides to charge you.

First reaction would probably be to help. I’m a sucker like that and I already know no good deed goes unpunished.

If I could think about it beforehand I definitely wouldn’t. But I already know I would jump in the heat of the moment because I almost chased two guys who were being chased by one guy, without even knowing the situation. The only reason I didn’t was because they were too far away.

This dude was honking in his car chasing two guys, pulls over basically half sidewalk half street. Leaving his car door open with possibly the keys inside to go run after them. My stupid brain said something along the lines of “Wow this guy is really going through a lot of trouble, I should definitely help”.

My friend was with me and he was like fuck that, it could be over drugs or something you don’t even know what it’s about. And i knew he was right

If there were a couple of fire fighters trying to save a bunch of kids from a fire but one was being attacked by a feeble distraught women, and he asks you to hold her off while he saves the kids who will definitely die if you don't help; you'd help.

Don't talk in nonsense absolutes. There are plenty of times when the states interests align with an anarchists interests. Importantly the state is made of people and they share common ground with you.

I had a few friends help out a cop arrest a drunk turd outside a bar one time.

I was there for one of them (i wasn't helping, watched from about 15 yards away). And the cop couldn't have acted more ungrateful, and for the time i wasn't there, the story was the same.

Now, i don't know if it was because the cops may have been irritated by trying to arrest drunk people. But two times a strangers help was not wanted. That's enough for me to say i wouldn't.
