Would strip Woodley if 170 moved to 175?

Assuming they add a 165lbs division in the future and moved 170 to 175lbs.

What are the steps to take to change the weight of a division? Is it simple or it a longer process? Would you need to have your champion fight at the new weight in order to claim him as the champion?

More divisions is exactly what the UFC needs. Who is the WSW champ?

UFC needs to cut WMMA except for 135 lb division and cut 125 lb mens, then add 165, 195 and 225, etc

Why would they strip an ACTIVE champ like Woodley, who defended against top contenders, when they let a guy like McNeverDefend sit on a belt for almost 2 years without a single defense?

I think it'd be funny if they stripped tyrone even if they didn't move 170 to 175.

I agree with you but one is a huge draw and the other is one of the lowest drawing and most disliked UFC champs in recent history.

No stripping necessary. Leave him with the 175belt and have a new, vacant 165 belt anyone who fan make 165 can fight for. More belts means no one needs to be stripped

That is incorrect.

He has been the marquee fight once as champion and that did 300k. I can name 10 other champions who have done less than 300k.

So you want to add 3 divisions even though they would mess up the current divisions?

And there aren't enough HWs or LHWs now, so your solution is to cut those divisions in half?

Terrible idea.

Yeah but come on, who buys a Woodley fight?

Since I don't think he can make 165, you just make Woodley the inaugural 175 champ. You don't strip a champ for no good reason.

I do not support the idea, but perhaps Woodley should choose to be the champ in 165 or 175. He would simply be the inaugural champ of either weightclass and some other guys would fight for the vacant. Again... I do not like the idea.

165 and 175 has to happen. I think it would be great for fighters like Khabib or RDA who are a little too big for LW but not big enough for WW.

I know RDA won a fight at WW but I think Robbie was done. Covington will beat him handy
