Would Ngannous run with limited grappling and mainly punching work in the old UFC?

Look how you cherrypick these fughters. CAIN??!!! Which version? The Mr. Glass version or the pre USADA wrecking ball. Same with JDS. Carwin was never great he was a very watered down Frank tbh and you see exactly how Brock reacts to punchers with TDD. Barnett would get his head onocked off. Maybe prime Mir and DC I think would be great fights but Frank kills most of who you named Round 1.

it's 2018 ngannou who couldn't wrestle not the current ngannou, current ngannou beats both
 
I think because Francis came around the same time as Derrick Lewis and people can't tell the difference between big black guys, he was unfairly labeled as some jabroni fighter and some of it stuck even after he proved to be elite.

There is nothing that would stop Ngannou from being a top guy. Why are we pretending like there weren't top HWs before who barely grappled too?

Ngannou has already shown he has some grappling capability in addition to being fast, explosive, and packed with KO power someone like Nogueria isn't exactly going to take him down with ease.

You have to compare primes and 2018 was not his prime lol. Would you like to be fair and compare the worst version Ngannou to the worst version Cain or JDS lol?

That's why he was so exciting. He's a striker who actually has more than a punchers chance
 
His wrestling is better than people give him credit for really, combined with the fact he is big and strong as fuck. It would take a DC, Cain, Fedor, Brock level guy to exploit it imo.
