Would Ngannous run with limited grappling and mainly punching work in the old UFC?

Heavy weight Vitor probably beats him. Rizzo would chop him down with leg kicks. Maurice smith would out point him. Yeah Francis loses to almost everyone from back then. Coleman would beat him too.

No. Yout'e way off. He kills them with his hands

What sucks is that Francis was arguably reaching his peak in the UFC from the time he won the belt from Stipe to his title defense against Gane, right before he left.

His grappling was improving and evolving, and even though his last PFL opponent was a can, he still beat him with vicious ground and pound following a takedown.

People forget Francis only started training MMA in his mid to late 20s.

People are just writing random shit now. Give me one good reason why Ferreira is a can.

Ngannou would have dusted most if not all of the old guard.

I went overboard calling him a can, it's just that it's hard to compare him to the caliber of the last two opponents Francis fought before he left the UFC.

Either way, I was impressed with how he used a grapple heavy gameplan than deciding to just stand and bang like people expected. Francis could have become a decent grappler had he stayed in the UFC.

You think he beats prime Cain, Brock, DC, Mir, Carwin, and Barnett? I don’t think he wins those 6 in a row… he’d have a punchers chance in all of them. The DC that destroyed Barnett and Rampage has a 95% chance of winning in my eyes.

If OP only means like Bas Rutten and Randleman era… Francis likely wins all his fights… Bob Sapp won fights back then….
Bob Sapp was briefly good, he was a freaking mutant.

I think DC/prime Cain would have the best shot. But either could easily get put to sleep too.

And way worse striker so he would get KO'd under 2 minutes
Yep that's the context that was left out, Stipe stood with him and rocked his shit in before taking him down and rocking his shit in.

Is it really that impressive for a hulkishly strong African dumping a jijujitsu guy on his ass?
