Would Cheick Kongo be top 10 in the UFC today?

In many people's eyes, Kongo is considered to be the #1 Bellator Heavyweight on the roster. Kongo currently possesses the highest winning streak in Bellator Heavyweight. He also holds a win over one Alexander Volkov in 2015.

He's definitely not one of my favorite fighters, but it would be foolish to think he wouldn't at least be in the top 20 today in the UFC, even at the age of 42 (43 very soon). How do you think he would do against the top contenders today?

Looking like that in his 40's, do you think USADA would absolutely fuck him?

I'm not racist btw.

I'm just linking a famous song that happens to be extremely racist... lol

hed get busted by usada

but anyways, guys like arlovski are still chilling in the top 10 so whos to say kongo couldnt decision some guys to stay ranked

I think he beats Francis or Mark Hunt but he doesn't get past this new wrestling Arlovski. Does he get past Fabricio? I think not. Reem? nah. so I generally agree, he would probably stay within the top 10 but never win the title

He could easily be top 10 in the UFC’s heavyweight division.
C - Miocic: would beat Kongo
1 - N’Gannou: would KO Kongo
2 - Overeem: would KO Kongo, but could also see his chin failing him again
3 - Volkov: could see Kongo grinding out a 3 round decision again, would favor Volkov in a 5-rounder
4 - Blaydes: See Blaydes outwrestling him to a decision
5 - Werdum: could see Werdum beating Kongo with relative ease
6 - Lewis: could see Kongo grind out a decision but Lewis just needs to crack that chin
7 - Hunt: already KO’d Kongo once
8 - Tybura: can see Kongo grinding out a decision
9 - Arlovski: could see a decision either way
10 - Oleynik: could see Oleynik drop and sub Kongo
11 - Struve: Kongo could grind out a decision
12 - Shamil: Kongo would win imo, maybe even get a TKO win
13 - Tuivasa: could see Tai get a stoppage in the first
14 - Albini: could stop Kongo if he finds that chin or win a decision imo
15 - Ledet: decision could got either way, whether people favor the pitter patter from Ledet or the clinch from Kongo

Overall I see most of these hypothetical fights being boring

SMH HW is so shallow, but yeah he could probably crack the top 10.

Probably not if you look at the current top 10. I'll always root for him but let's be honest : outside of a decision win vs Minakov he hasn't done much in the last 5 years and he probably still has the same flaws : poor grappling, suspect gas tank and very average defense. His power can still put anyone out anytime though.

Would be good to have him back. There's be a lack of illegal knees to the groin lately

It's the HW division. My awkwardly tall, fat uncle has a chance.

Big guys suck at fighting. Too much space to fill.

You're thinking of Volkov. He lost to Minakov.

I think he'd be top 10 or pretty close. He's good at what he does even if it's not great to watch. Ever since barry/kongo tho I've always been a fan and will always cheer him on.

You would be a terrible analyst don’t ever do that again

close to top 10 at the moment but imo he was quite an average HW. never had any fluidity to his movement and just average fight IQ. never made use of his long limbs and height..

i can only imagine he'd be alot worse today given he is probably well into his 40's
