@Jin Akutsu mentioned in another thread that it was Paddy's kick that meant King needed to either shoot or faceplant. I had saved this vid earlier in the day which shows it really well. As title says - sound UP for the kick!

I hope y'all take 20 seconds out of your day and enjoy it.

Edit:
Here's another great angle, gif made by the man mentioned above!

Well I'll be damned. Looks like Green got his leg kicked out from underneath him and a combination of Pimblett going for the sub and Green instinctively reaching out his arms for a half-assed or Hail Mary takedown spelling his doom.

I had denigrated Green for a terrible fight IQ in this one but I stand corrected.

Well done, laddy.

yeah man, I think a lot of folks did the same!

great gif sir, will add it to OP.

Wish this thread had made more traction, but it probably easier for folks to shit on Green elsewhere, than have a good look and congratulate Paddy.

Even in the thread I made, and posted it in, people still blamed Bobby lol. Sherdog hates any "hyped or "pushed" prospects. You're either a can, or the champ around here.

I gotta say Paddys submission game is slick as f. it was pretty crazy how quick he transitioned from the guillotine to the triangle. Usually people slowly get that but he got him immediately in that. That and the Leavit sub were pretty nice.

Cheers mate, I made this GIF for it yesterday, feel free to use it.

I agree the kick influenced Green to go through with shooting in on the takedown, but he still dipped his head for a level change pretty much before the kick was even thrown

Looks like Green was loading a lunging right hook or overhand to me, and had to change his plan after having lost a leg.

Your interpretation is definitely possible as well, no one aside from Green himself would know definitively.

Nice, so Bobby never intended to shoot, he got taken off his feet and that was his only option. I wish UFC did some kind of follow ups when these little details emerge, maybe they already do I don't know. They should definitely bring it up next time Paddy fights. Makes the win look better, so it's not just Bobby being stupid and giving up his neck for no reason

Yeah but it looked like he was going for a heavy punch, not to shoot. Like a body shot maybe

So it was a fluke then!

Am I sherdogging correctly?

Damn, I never really watched the finishing sequence. Looks like Green really didn't go for a TD, he was tripped up.You can see Greens hands just dangling for a second after he gets kicked. He definitely wasn't expecting that.

Btw I'm sure a lot of y'all already knew all this, I've been late to the party these days. 😁

Appreciate it, 🤟
