Worst Weight Cut Fail in UFC History

Yeah I mean, I love AJ but his weight cutting mistakes set a gold standard. I'm glad the guy's at LHW and knocking heads off now though.

Hyun Gyu Lim was supposed to make his debut on the Franklin-Le card but had to pull out due to his weight cut. There was a report that said him and his team wanted to try again after he was taken to the hospital, but the UFC doctor said he could die if he didn't hydrate himself. Not sure how legit that report was but according to Lim:

Lol.. Lim gets a pass for his commitment to Fight or Die.

Riggs was a replacement for someone else after having fought only a month earlier. I don't know when exactly he was penciled in as the replacement, but it seems like it was a couple of weeks out. That's probably why

I knew he was a late replacement for Karo, but you don't take a fight if you have been eating dirty for over a month. Maybe he told management that he may not make weight and they didn't care, but Diesel should still be embarrassed by missing out on an opportunity for the title. Man this post makes me sad thinking about what has happened to the careers of Riggs and Karo.

Didn't Kevin Randleman slip and fall in the sauna knocking himself unconscious before a title fight/defense? I think that deserves an honorable mention.

Randleman slipped and fell which caused him to be pulled from a title fight, but it did not have to do with cutting weight. His incident happened the night of the fight.

The TUF with Ronda where those two guys missed weight.

Lutter didnt pass out. Plus he looked the best anyone had against Anderson in the UFC up until he lost.

Pretty sure Riggs was replacing Karo

Cyborg coming in at 152 to fight a 125 pounder at 145 was pretty bad, and she didn't even try to cut the weight. At the re-weigh she was 158, six pounds higher. Josh Barnet was super pissed.

Filho missed weight when he was WEC champion, the only time I can remember that happened. After Chael beat him he sent Chael a WEC belt in the mail, though, so at least he tried to make it right.

So did this event just become free?

Missing weight was the least of Filho's problems in that fight. He should have been disqualified for bringing imaginary friends into the cage to help him fight Sonnen.

Came here to say this. It happened again recently too but I can't remember the dudes name.

Tim Means slipped in the sauna and KO'd himself while cutting weight iirc. He was scheduled to fight Abel Trujillo on the UFC on FOX 5 card in Seattle.

given the context, rumble vs vitor

he was going up to 185 supposedly to stop missing weight, and then didnt even come kinda close, he completely blew right through the new weight limit

Huge myth that Filho was incapacitated in some way going into that fight. Filho passed his drug tests and he was fine in that fight until Sonnen slammed him on his head in the 2nd round. It caused Filho to have a severe concussion (he had to spend the night in the hospital for this concussion) and by the third round he had significant brain swelling that was causing him all kinds of vision and disorientation problems. That is why he was acting that way.

Gabe Was at his prime and was WEC champ. Who knows what would have happened if he made weight.
