Your fighter is getting battered and she doesn't want to fight, yet you tell her to fight with a broken nose lol, for what? What did he hope would happen?

On one hand Rockys nose was smashed and she said she wanted out, but quitting at the last round of her title shot... she may have regretted that more. Thoughts?

That was bad... they are supposed to protect their fighter

I think Pennington’s coach just took the title from Edmund

Some bullshit. Pennington is tough as fuck. They should not have let her go back out there.

Yeah, her corner is pretty damned garbage.

was Raquel´s left leg the one that got broken like a year ago? it was clear something was wrong with it right from the beginning

Coaches made her take another round of beatings smh

When your fighter is telling you they quit and you send them out to get split open and beat on further.. you failed your fighter..

It was clear from the start of the fight that Pennington didn't want to be in there. Sure, she said it out loud after the fourth round, but so what? Like the announcers said, if you want to quit, tell the ref, not your coach. I assume her corner knows her best and made the right call for her.

Besides, if she had made some hail mary KO or submission in the last round, everyone would have been praising her coach for keeping her in the fight.

I think fighters usually get used to trainers pushing them past their limits.
I don't know if tonight was right. She could have tapped at any moment.
Definitely something her and her corner are going to have to re-evaluate

If your fighter wants an out, you give it to them. Never force them to fight more. Horrible horrible job on their part. Failure as a coach imo. That fighter is in your care. You don't violate that trust.

Who is he that guy? That really pissed me off. Has he ever fought in his life?

Is that the type of thing that gets a coach fired?

I forget exactly what was said. If I'm the coach and my fighter says they're done, then I would make sure they knew what was at stake and that they're sure. If so, then that's that imo.

That being said, pride, brand image, reputation, ego, etc .. also played a role on her part. She could've told the ref the same thing

i can see why he wanted her to continue.

shes been out since 2016 and waited a long time for a title shot. they wanted her to fight it out and at least finish the fight even tho she ended up being stopped

I mean this fight is special, usually when some1 is saying 'im done" its because they are really beaten and are gassed... Pennington was just mentally broken....A broken nose is like nothing in an MMA in terms of damage... She still looked to have speed and decent gas left in the tank.. it was just mental, so in theory, yeah she could of gotten a lucky punch or triangle, its mma anything can happen, but with hindsight now, yeah probably throw in a towel on someone who seems to have been more concerned about her HAIR/GLOVES/SPORTS BRA over and over then the actual fight.

It was actually disgusting to watch

He had a chance to save her but opted to send her back to hell
