Pettis- He was never the same after the beating RDA gave him. Dropping to FW was a mistake and he hasn't had a significant win since.

JDS- He beat his contemporary to win the belt while both were in their primes. Yeah he had a successful defense against Carwin but after the Cain beatings he's kinda been hit or miss.

Hendricks- He was on tear leading into the GSP fight. Even though he lost, he didn't lose any confidence. And he won the belt in his next fight in a classic against Lawler. I don't know if losing another iffy decision in the rematch did something to his confidence but he was never the same after that.

Definitely Hendricks. at his peak, he KO'd Fitch and Kampmann, then put a hurting on GSP and arguably beat Lawler, twice. Now, he's getting brutally stopped at a weightclass he shouldn't belong to, because he couldn't control his diet.

Hendricks is the worst fall from grace on this list and potentially in that division's history. I think losing to Lawler broke his spirit. All he had to do was quit shoveling down food and he couldn't even manage that. Imagine going from barely losing to the WW GOAT to getting your ass kicked by the pillsbury doughboy.

GSP.

Went from being a badass striker/wrestler, to tapping to strikes and becoming a glorified blanket lay and pray artist.

Lol Pettis thought he could try to make waves in the Featherweight division only to get ran over by Max Holloway, out of the 145-55 pound division, I'd say he's fallen the worse. RDA moved up in weight and has looked like an absolute killer, Pettis moved up and down only to keep losing.

Not really cuz of diet it's cuz he can't juice anymore I think he was on more shit all the way back to high-school than any fighter in recent memory. He is poster child of Usada's impact on the sport.

Tim Sylvia

He went from long reigning ufc champ to relative obscurity after his loss to Randy

CM Punk, went from LEGIT WWE WORLD CHAMP to getting beat by Micky Gall.. huge fall from grace..

Probably a big part of it, too, but there're more slices to this pizza than just USADA.

Technically it's Anthony since he was the most hyped. Johnny has just straight up given up years ago. JDS is still a top guy.

Jones

Went from a seemingly invincible guy to a disgraced coked up cheater.

Losing to Lawler didnt break his spirit. Getting ROBBED against Lawler and GSP broke his spirit.

Every single person knows he was fucking robbed in that decision vs Lawler but they look the other way because "Lawler is cool and hendricks tried to wrestle him, who cares"

If you get robbed of being the person to dethrone GSP(a massive historic accomplishment) and go on to win the belt anyways, only to be robbed AGAIN, its got to break your spirit.

How is Ronda not #1?

There are more fighters deserving to be before her, she only lose 2 fights by KO/TKO while lots of the fighters mentioned in this thread really went from top fighters/champions to not so special guys with lots of loss and not that good performance. Plus, it's not like we lack examples in the "fall from prominence" category.

Well if you were reading correctly, OP gave you three options to choose from. It is a discussion regarding three specific fighters because anyone can blurt out what you just did
