Haha now at least this is creative, and fair enough.

I did not claim that this was a thrilling fight, because it wasn't. I also didn't claim Woodley took big risks to force a stoppage, because he did not.

I do however claim, that he beat up Maia - look at his face - and he won 5-0 against the #1 contender while making it look easy.

Woodley neutralized Maia and landed a few good shots in a 25 minute fight. Not impressed. Jon och Cormier are 2 divisions above and they have like 2x the output.

Maia pressed forward almost the entire fight, tried to take woodley down, and initiated almost every exchange. Woodley won, but the hate he is getting is on him and not Damien. I get why he fought the way he did, but woodley has been consistently boring in most of his fights. The sad part is he has the power to ko anyone but he barely uses it.

EDIT: While not a fan of t-wood, I do respect the amount of fights he takes. Its nice to have an active champ.

Sure it was a boring fight but the only way it was going to be exciting was if Maia actually got a TD or if Woodley decided to grapple with him. Woodley's not a dumbfuck so he allowed neither of those scenarios to materialize. If Maia wanted the belt bad enough, he would have struck with Woodley and switched up his gameplan after realizing that bullshit wasn't going to work on Tyron. Sure, he likely would have gotten KO'd with that tactic but at least we'd be talking about how good the fight was. It's not the champ's job to play into the challenger's strengths when the challenger is so clearly 1 dimensional, it's really that simple.

Tyron dropped Maia like a sack of potatoes. He pinged him with big punches and made an absolute mess out of his face.

Everyone - EVERYONE - knows Maia will grab you and hold you until the bell rings if you let him near you. There is no secret about it, his nickname is literally - can't make this up - "back pack."

Only a fool would play his game. Instead he got his face broken up, lost all 5 rounds, and we can settle the claim that Maia is the best and move on to more interesting match ups.

I did say that Maia's face was a mess. I have a hard time taking anyone seriously that will disagree with that statement.

lol at that logic. The two Wonderboy fights didn't lack action because of Woodley alone. The reason why WB didn't throw very many strikes was because he was scared of Woodley's counter strikes. Now why would WB be scared of Woodley's striking?

In regards to the Maia fight the reason why the best grappler in MMA couldn't take him down and do his thing was because of Woodley's wrestling. So please tell me some more about how not well rounded Woodley is....

People have a unreasonable expectations on how elite level MMA works.

Demian spammed EIGHTEEN take down attempts, he would legit sloppy dive on Tyron's legs anytime they were near each other.

I don't dispute Maia's right to that game plan, but it takes two to tango. Woodley casually went about beating the ever loving brakes off Maia, the guys face was a complete mess, and he did it with COMPLETE impunity.

It was a one sided ass kicking. If you thought it was boring, blame the guy who spammed non-stop sloppy take downs with no setup, and has spent his career proving to everyone if you don't shuck him off and get out of there, he will hold you down until the bell rings for points.

Woodley out classed Demian and made it look easy. That is a big accomplishment.

Woodley won the belt with a spectacular first round knockout of Robbie Lawler. He then fights three times in one year, the only truly active champion, fighting real #1 contenders.

Lets not cast aspersions on Maia and Woodley. They put on a fine performance, styles make fights.

Stop it. Just stop it.

We want the Koscheck KOing, Condit leg breaking,Dong Kim TKOing and Lawler KOing Woodley. No one likes this ultra safe version of T wood.
