Woodley says Rory is his toughest match up, says he's a fan

Who would win the rematch?

Ariel’s argument is pretty flawed. Rory is considered number one because of his work in the ufc and beating the current champ. He hasn’t spent his whole career in Bellator and still got voted number one. If Lima has beat Rory, Lima wouldn’t have been close to being voted number one.

Helwani you fool. Your poll doesn't prove anything.

Rory is just an exception to the rule. He has a point victory over Ultimate Fighting's current 170 champion and Dana was stupid enough to let him walk.

Why is Rory considered #1 WW when their recent fights show Woodley had much better results against better fighters?

Is Dennis Hallman also considered P4P better than Matt Hughes?

Rory got beat up by Lawler, twice. And lost to Wonderboy.
I don't understand the poll results.

No way he should be considered a better fighter overall than Woodley.

Tryon takes the rematch. Rory has a lot of skill and heart but he just isn't durable enough at that level anymore. He's very fortunate he got past Lima

Helwani using that poll as some type of proof is silly. Polls are popularity contests. Tryon is not a well liked fighter, I'm not shocked he narrowly lost a poll to a more popular fighter

I don't think rory beats woodley this time around. that first fight was before rory's UFC 189 war with robbie and I think that fight changed rory forever. at least in my opinion it was clear that rory was no longer the fighter he was in the wonderboy and douglas lima fights. still gives anyone in the WW top five problems though.

How could you say rory is the best WW in the world though when there is wonderboy who pieced him up and lawler still around who beat years off of rory's life

Get outta here. Rory got beat up by Lawler, twice. And lost to Wonderboy.

Honestly, even though I don't like him that much, woodley when he's reserved like against Thompson and Maia is very difficult to beat. He just seems to have an advantage everywhere now over Rory.

I think Rory would win, he has given him problems last time, but Woodley is improved and hard to beat, i think either could win but probably split Decision. 2 of the best WW at the moment too bad he is in Bellator.

Rory would win. Styles make fights and Rory is a long jabber with elite takedown defense. He's never going to circle into a right overland and Woodley is largely a one handed fighter.

The multiple poll results speak for themselves

Rory > Woodley (again)

I think Rory wins, but Woodley definitely deserves the top ranking right now.

I think pre-Lawler II, Rory would have beaten Wonderboy as well.

That second Lawler fight took something from the guy.

Right now, if they were to rematch, I would pick Woodley. Tyrun is in his stride right now, and Rory barely got through Lima, who is no slouch, but the old Rory would have been more dominating.

Brutal watching these career trajectories.

Rory looks shot and gunshy. Still has all the skill in the world but dude took a loooootta damage

Both of the guys are super one dimensional tho allowing him to be reserved. Rory pieced up Maia too and would’ve finished him if it was five rounds. Woodley has great wrestling and ok striking. His speed and power are great but his technical stand up isn’t on the same level.

There’s a video breaking down everything Rory did in that fight and they were ready for everything that woodley throws. I’ll have to find it, but without seeing it, it’s hard to understand just how much better Rory is then woodley.

Woodley still loses to Rory but Rory imo will lose to Wonderboy if they were to rematch and on two occasions he lost to Robbie who Tyron steamrolled. MMA math doesn't work and styles make fights fits this situation perfectly.

Like Woodley hate didn't have something to do with the vote. There are clearly people that will never give Woodley his due.

Truth is that Woodley beat the last 2 people to beat MacDonald.

Do people still think that current Jacare beats current Mousasi?

Here’s a link to that video. It’s 11 minutes but is seriously awesome. Bjj scout does some of the best breakdowns.
