Woodley hasn't won a fight since

Fight fans (and people in general) these days are so short-sighted. Anyone in their eyes . . .and I mean this almost literally, is a potential GOAT as long as their *current* trajectory looks that way (cough, Khamzat, cough cough). Was there a time when Tyron looked unbeatable, and that if he kept up that trajectory he'd eventually be GOAT? Absolutely. But that can be said for any fighter on a good win-streak. MMA media's over-hyping of every single win-streak doesn't help.
The era of internet, social media and short memories.

Inb4 someone posts the Serra gif
Eh, that is arguably a much worse KO than what GSP took, and Woodley lost to MacDonald by just being outclassed and figured out, which was a foreshadowing to his defeats he has now.
GSP adapted, Woodley never did:

I don't know where this is from, but his shirt....lol

I kind of feel like Woodley is same as always, just got away with it for all that time and hasn't improved.

Since 2 Months against Colby it was not that long time

But he totally redeemed himself with this banger

This has been done a million times before. Maybe even two million times.

Even more interestingly, he's only looked good in one fight of his last 7. Up until the Usman loss many Sherdoggers, Joe Rogan and a lot of other MMA media types had him as the WW GOAT...When GSP had triple the number of Tyrone's defences. Also, Tyron had a split and a draw in two of those three, when GSP had only one split in 9.

Now that Tyron has shit the bed completely in his last three, everyone is pretending like no one made the earlier WW GOAT talk.

The idea of him being goat was as stupid then as it is now

And it wouldn't bother me as much if people weren't so oblivious about it. It's one thing to say "Yeah, I'm just jumping on this guy's bandwagon because he's the one getting all the hype". . . but instead we get "Dude, THIS guy is the GOAT! He's unbeatable! He's future double-champ!" . . . after 3 can-crushings.

It is crazy how fast in mma a #1 fighter can plummet.

Woodley is great against some match ups mainly southpaws that can't pressure him.

Against orthodox guys with a nice lead hand and heavy pressure Tyron will crumble mentaly and gas out

The kids are fucking obsessed with "GOAT" this and that. They use it as an adjective, to describe something good. It's ridiculous.
It's one of the things I will give you younger generations. They are masterful at taking a word with 100s of years of documented meaning, then just deciding it means something else. Just stupid kids being stupid, but unlike the old days, we are all subjected to it now. Some of us can't see though it. Others can.

His biggest fans while champion didnt watch his previous fights.

They invented some myth about turning into the perfect fighter at the age of 35, for a couple months.

I remember being one of the few guys who touted Woodley before he got into the title picture, nobody cared for him, nobody said "this is a goat type fighter" then suddenly he was a WW GOAT? lol. Bunch of flavor of the week loving casuals got exposed.

I remember being told his power would leave GSP afraid to pressure him. hahaha

So, they've literally gotten a dictionary to add the "slang" version of "literally" - which means the exact opposite of "literally". I can't even make that shit up.

I talked the goat thing, but I really think he was solid, his feud with Dana and him trying a music career derailed his focus.
