My wife and I watched it tonight. It was awesome to see Mr Rogers again. Im glad nothing ever came out bad about him. He is a person we should all strive to be but personally thatd be hard to do.

Children need this kind of person on tv again. This documentary is a must watch.

He gets a lot of shit for his over the top nice personality, but fact is, society would be better off if kids still had these shows to watch. Mr Rogers, Sesame Street, and Electric Co, all had substance. Kids shows these days are pure garbage.

That being said, I laugh almost as much as my kids when watching Teen Titans Go.

Had to do it.

Have heard good things about the doc, though, and will definitely check it out.

My son fucking loves that show.

As far back as I can remember, Mr. Rogers show was boring as hell. I couldn't wait for sesame Street to come on.

He was just a good, loving human being. I believe our kids need more of these shows now days. Also teen titans go and gumball are funny as crap. Lol.

yes the documentary was solid. Its a must watch. My wife didnt care much about him but came out saying what a great film and great person.

Everything Bill Cosby knows about drugging and raping bitches he learned from his mentor, Mr. Rogers.

Fred Rogers did the commencement address at my college graduation (Marquette '01), so it was a bunch of kids who grew up on Mister Rogers Neighborhood that were totally engaged in what he was saying re: making people feel special about themselves, focusing on the good in tough times, etc. He was getting older and you could tell he was slowing down, but his voice was unmistakable. I challenge anyone to say anything negative about that dude. I just saw an analysis video of how he subtly spoke and fought racism and prejudice through kid-friendly terms on his show for years. The world can be a cold, cruel, unfriendly place and this documentary is coming at the right time.

Also, Chowder>>>Teen Titans Go

Also that must of been so awesome to see him live.

  • Fred Rogers served as a Navy SEAL sniper during the Vietnam War, with a large number of confirmed kills to his credit.
  • Fred Rogers always wore long-sleeved shirts and sweaters on his show to conceal the tattoos on his arms he obtained while serving in the military.

Summary of eRumor:

Children’s television personality Fed Rogers was a Navy Seal and a sniper in Vietnam with 25 confirmed kills to his credit.
The Truth:

Fred Rogers, the founder and host of the popular U.S. children’s television program Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood never served in the military. There have been various false rumors about him including one that claims he always wore long-sleeved shirts to hide his tattoo.

According to his official biography from Family Communications, the producers of his show, Fred Rogers went directly from college into media.

He was first hired as an assistant producer by NBC television in New York and worked on several classic shows such as The Voice of Firestone, The Kate Smith Hour, and The NBC Opera Theatre.

He was asked to help develop some of the first programming for WQED in Pittsburgh, the nation’s first community-sponsored educational television station.

Some of what he created was children’s programming that eventually led to Mr. Rogers Neighborhood.

Rogers’ major in college was Music Composition but he later attended both Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Child Development and was ordained a Presbyterian minister in 1963.

He died on February 27, 2003 at his home in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Your last line almost made me unlike your post.

Wasn't Mr.Rogers later outed as a :eek::eek::eek::eek:phile?

No. Plenty of cynical people have looked for dirt or started rumors because of his longevity in working with young kids and superhuman levels of kindness, and came up empty handed every time. The man was beyond reproach.
