“This research is a first attempt to shed light on important, but understudied, adverse consequences of gender inequality on women’s health in later life,” explains researcher Eric Bonsang of University Paris-Dauphine and Columbia University, lead author on the study. “It shows that women living in gender-equal countries have better cognitive test scores later in life than women living in gender-unequal societies. Moreover, in countries that became more gender-equal over time, women’s cognitive performance improved relative to men’s.”

Well that's enough for me. Fuck considering which countries actually have job scarcity to consider and which can just fire off a "no" because it's only hypothetical anyway. Also doesn't consider which places people have more families and kids. Not interested in that little tidbit.

Their high scorer was Sweden, where they aren't even having kids at replacement rates so we'll check back on their "gender equality" in a generation or 2 when they're a Muslim country. The lowest was fucking Ghana, where they don't have to imagine a hypothetical job scarcity.

Since they've decided to compare 3rd world countries to western ones, I think we know what these racists really mean when they say "more gender equal". Can't believe they would publish a study using "gender equal" as code for white people. You, sir, are a racist and this thread is hate speech.

Women in gender neutral countries are using their brains more therefore retain more cognitive function. It's the same principle as people with degrees tend to age better.
