Wolverine vs. Spider-Man vs. Batman

Out of these 3, who's the best comic book superhero?

Spider-Man stomps. He's *way* smarter than Wolverine, in the range of Batman's level of intelligence, way faster and stronger than Batman, and has the webs and danger sense thing going for him. Spider-Man, as a character, is basically held back from being an ultimate assassin type by his morals.

Batman has a better chance than Wolverine, honestly, if he's willing to take a Ripley style "nuke the site from orbit" approach, because that's what it would take. If you let Batman bring in non-standard equipment too, you're going to have to let Spider-Man as well, and he has a surprising amount of powerful stuff from over the years.

I believe thats Superior Spider-Man a.ka. Dr. Octopus mind in Spider-Mans body. But still, there was an old comic in the 80s with Spider-Man and Wolverine facing off and Peter basically did the exact same thing (punched Wolverines head straight through a tombstone at a cemetery).

Point of order, Mr Speaker: those panels are from the Superior Spiderman arc, in which Doctor Octopus took over Peter Parker's body. As a former Supervillain, Otto was much more ruthless and aggressive than Peter, and this is reflected in his fighting style. Up to and including using lethal force.

Although even Peter was freaked out by how much punishment Wolverine could take,

"I punch him hard enough to crack the tombstone. But I can't get him to stop smiling!"

Batman wins because he’s the tallest of the three of them.

i don't know shit about comics

But after years on sherdog i learned that writer will make Batman win in some way

Him and Captain America are fake underdogs from what i understand, because plot shield compensate whatever disadvantage

nailed it with the first post. Lock this thread up.

Wolverine is one of my favs but Batmans superior intellect and combat fighting knowledge is GOAT.

Batman kicks everyone's ass including Superman.

If we're talking about a straight fight, wolverine beats Batman. He's stronger and faster, but also older and been training martial arts for longer than Batman has been alive, and in turn he only needs to land one punch and Bats is either gutted or crippled.

Spiderman would beat other guy pretty easily. But we are talking about comics and writers can do practically whatever they want.

As to whose I like more, Spiderman's struggle between power and responsibility is, to me, a more classic and dramatic heroic struggle than either wolverines struggling with his feral nature or Batman and his struggle with being corrupted by the dark forces he tries to battle. They're all great heroes and have had awesome stories, but Spiderman has a more dramatic angle, imo.

Yep. Surprised anyone caught that, actually.

While true, the OP didn't specify, and the Superior Spider-Man is still billed as Spider-Man. On top of that everything done in those panels is reflective of the Amazing Spider-Man's abilities. He didn't kill Wolverine there, nor did he even try to - he just shut him up quickly. On top of that, in a twist of what I think of as stupid writing, Peter Parker is probably the more intelligent of the two when you factor in overall lifetime feats of intellect...

Batman wins because he’s the tallest of the three of them.

Well damn.. Hadn't thought of that. Wolverine is certainly quite the manlet and Peter Parker would be a bit of a midget on Sherdog.

Spider-man is not only the greatest superhero, I feel that he can stake a claim as the greatest fictional character in English Literature.

I like some of the alternate versions of Cable, like kid Cable or Ultmate Xman cable who is future Wolverine

the original Nathan is just okay

And Spider-Man is a kind of a lame nerd

Batman is pears to plums here comparison imho

In terms of which I enjoyed the most from an entertainment standpoint, I pick Batman. The old Adam west show when I was a kid, then the animated series, all the movies, comics etc.

My two favorites have always been Wolverine and Batman. I think I'd give Wolverine a slight edge.
