Wladimir Klitschko vs Mike Tyson

Wladimir within 5 rounds.
Easy fight.

Both Klitschkos are renowned for laying waist to the American boxer. American heavyweight boxing will never recover.

The question is would Wlad be able to get a grip of Tyson as he blitzed in with his fast head movement. If Wlad could tie up and lean on Tyson I think the fight is his. If Tyson can get past Wlads grab defence then Wlad is in all sorts of trouble. Personally, I think Tyson is too fast for him and manages to avoid getting tied up.

Wladimirs feet separated him from the rest in his era. Plus he had a much better jab than Tucker and was stronger.

Could Tucker have reigned for 10 years if it was him instead of Wladimir from 2005-2015?

Tucker at that time was pretty damn good, to be fair. Of course he wouldbt have reigned for ten years, the Klits are well managed athletes, Tony was a crackhead..... but the competition was way tougher in the 80s too.

Tyson is a more skilled boxer, but his fight iq is questionable and his size is a problem against Klitschko so who knows. I would probably go with Wladmir.

Those fights were way past Tyson's prime.
He got in the ring, he lost. Too bad. Plus his prime lasted like 3 years.

Also, Wlad’s losses were well before his prime too, his prime was about 2007-2013

I think the question was who beats who in their prime...

With Stewart, being defensive, in his prime, I take wlad. Mike was awesome but great tall guys are his kryptonite. He was awesome and getting on the inside but mainly against those who were afraid of him. Wlad would simply lay on him every time they clinch until the ref separates them and win a crap decision

Wlad's length and jab could give Mike troubles. It's hard to judge Mike's "prime" because the guys he annihilated during it were mostly either borderline cans or old has-beens. Guys he could just blitz who had no means to keep him off of them or make him pay for being too aggressive. We really don't know how that Tyson would have done against the better fighters of the later era or the greats of the previous generations. I think Tyson did drop off fairly noticeably in his level from the start of the 90's onward but his fall also coincided with a much tougher HW division being cultivated.

Yeah but he knew that and wrapped up every single time his opponent got on the inside. See the Povetkin match for example.
Povetkin is slow as shit and Tyson isnt.

You said every version of Wlad. But you can't deny that he made adjustments after his losses and started to pump his jab more. Really didn't hit his peak before he was 30.
Every version of Wlad gets destroyed. The best version of Wlad simply holds on slightly longer. You arent bear hugging Tyson for 12 rounds. Wlad gets mauled.

Wlad would be able to hug and hold for only so long until Tyson catches him.

Povetkin isn't that slow - obviously Tyson was faster. But the point is Wlad learned to tie up on the inside against inside fighters. How would Tyson handle the non stop clinching by a guy much bigger than him?

With blazing speed and ferocious aggression/power on a guy who has a less than ideal chin.

Good luck getting a hold of Tyson before his fist goes through your face.

It was, so I don’t see the point in bringing up losses before or after their primes. In their primes I believe it’s easy work for Wlad

Tyson was dangerous for the first half of the fight, the 2nd half not so much.

I'd pick 1988 Tyson over 2008 Wlad, but its again the same nonsense, and I always use this example: If Ali and Norton never fought each other, and people discussed that fantasy match up today, what would most people say? I can imagine.

Which of Tyson's 1-4 rounds victims is comparable to Klitschko?

Unpredictable fight if we’re talking about prime Wlad, IMO.

What opponent of Wlad is comparable to Tyson?
