Without bias, did Silva lose his first fight to Chris or did Chris really win?

and yet here we are. Time has shown us that the Chris wasn’t all that. Sometimes lightning really does strike the same spot twice.
OR sometimes people age

The Chris who flawlessly obliterated Munoz and utterly dominated Anderson at 168 was most definitely "all that" to anyone who understands what they're watching

As the saying goes,” It was his fight to lose”. By that it means, he just acted reckless and lost the fight and not because his opponent was better than him. So my question goes like this, is this the case of Anderson Silva vs Chris Weidman and that it was Silva’s fight to lose since he started leaving this hands down clowning around and being reckless or did Chris expose his weaknesses?
He had Weidman befuddled so much he had given up on takedowns. He clowned to much and got caught with a punch he did not see. I believe if he didnt fartass around he would have won that fight. Then the legend of super striker weidman began. He was sherdogs greatest hero and outstruck Sherdogs greatest striker - Anderson. The worst time in Sherdog history imo.

Pretty clear Anderson lost the fight by himself. He had like 100 opportunities to easily finish a gassed, slow Weidman and decided to toy with him lol.

He was being arrogant, but I don't know why as he was losing that fight, Chris dominated round 1 , and Anderson had landed nothing apart from a leg kick.

He is the third most dominant MW champion, after Silva and Israel
He had three title defences against Silva, Machida and Vitor
Machida was in his prime and had just outstruck Gegard and Vitor was on his headkick uppercut rampage at that time
Then Rockhold completely mauled him and his chin was gone

The question is already biased to begin with.

One guy absolutely destroyed the other, get the fuck over it...

I get what you're trying to say. And Chris was just better. That was prime fearless IV weight cut Chris. IV weight cut Chris was a legit beast. And Anderson was already on his way down. Age catching up to him.

If you rewatch the fight, Anderson was already losing prior to the showmanship. He only started clowning as a gamble to get inside Chris's head. But Chris stayed focused and composed and didn't fall into the trap. Chris was just the better fighter. And that goes for BOTH fights.

For context, remember that Sonnen pretty much dominated Silva for 4 rounds before shitting the bed. Chris was a MUCH better version of Chael at that point in time.

lolol yeah so many chances to EASILY finish the fight lmao

Silva didn’t want to wrestle and Chris is long and not falling for Silva’s counters so Silva decided to try and bait him only to get caught in a very awkward position and get slept. Silva is really lucky that punch wasn’t full throttle because I think it could’ve easily gave him a herniated disc in his neck

My feeling is also that Silva was baiting him into getting sloppy. Chris was def not as composed I found in the second round because of it, but he had no fear at the time of being anywhere close to losing. Had he missed that combo, things may have gotten interesting in the following rounds, but I feel Chris could have wrestled fucked him had it kept going. He may have missed a td or two but I don't think he was setting them up or was as desperate to land them at the time. Had he pressed harder I think he could have got them, but he did respect Silva's ability to counter so wasn't as recjkless or falling for Silva's tricks like many others had in the past

Silva was trying to duck Weidman so he obviously took him seriously. He was clowning because he thought his best chance to win was to throw him off.
Why would a Champion on an 18 fight winning streak be afraid of Chris Wiedman? That makes no sense saying he was ducking him. Sorry, I'm not buying that.

Anderson was done as far as his prime went, he was getting by on the mystique of years gone by and MW being pretty weak at the time.

The thing I'm most sad about is that we never got Chris vs Vitor on TRT because they booked Wiedman Silva 2.

Silva was heavily trying to duck Weidman. The story was pretty hilarious. Silva even lied by saying he had to undergo surgery. But when Weidman said he would also take that time to get surgery then Silva miraculously was ready to fight and didnt need surgery anymore. At one point Dana just got mad and forced the fight upon Silva.

I feel like if Silva had taken Weidman seriously in that first fight, he would have won in a dominant fashion.

He didn't just lose, he got knocked out cold. He's acted "reckless" in alot of his fights and was praised for it then once he got KO'd it became "he wasn't trying" or wasn't taking the fight seriously.

Why even have the fights then? Just decide who you think is better and just leave it at that if your feelings matter more than a convincing KO loss.

What part of Duh don't you understand?

To transfuse my bias (I was rooting for Weidman)

Aldo was my favorite fighter and I hated Conor. I thought Aldo fought angrily and stupid and got KOed in 8 seconds. He will never run that back. Conor beat him 100% and that's it

Weidman beat Silva. No ifs or buts. He agreed to the rules stepped in there and got KOed

Well I watched the fight, and saw Chris knock Anderson out.

lmao @ "without bias" as if thats a thing here.
