With Usman/Chimaev not happening should they make Usman/Belal ?

Easy, Usman vs Shavkat needs to happen. Throw some money at Usman and get that fight going. Belal is fighting for the title imo anyway.

Belal said he'd only fight Usman other than a shot, but I don't know if that was before Dana promised him a shot (whatever the fuck a Dana promise is worth).

And Usman recently said Belal is the only other guy who makes sense, after finding out Khamzat don't want none.

So entirely possible and sensible. I do worry how that could screw things up though

It was before the fight with Burns, right after Usman/Edwards 3 and Dana adamantly saying Colby got the next TS.

dunno what his stance is today. I agree he should sit for a TS he deserves it, but I'm sure Dana & co will come for a BS reason to not honor their promise

Disagree. He manhandles 170ers because he is strong as an ox down there. He'll have trouble manhandling and finishing real 185ers. They don't have to be wrestlers, just have good TDD and be big and a lot of them are. I bet on Izzy all day in a fight.

The 170ers would be much easier. Usman? Give him a couple of years and he's probably not even there anymore because of age and wear and tear meanwhile Khamzat still young.

Colby? Old as well and will be gone. And both of those matchups might even be good for Khamzat anyways. Wrestling cancels out and he can crack on the feet and neither of those guys have particularly great chins.

The Kevin Holland fight, he ragdolled him and got the choke. But lets face it, what if he doesn't manage to sink in that choke in that first round? He's fucking dead in the water. He can probably get someone like Cannonier down for the first round but it will be a fucking struggle to get him down and keep him there and after they get out of the 1st round it's Cannoniers fight to win.

First of all Belal absolutely deserves a title shot at this point and he should even have gotten one before Colby "I'm on a 1 fight win streak that happened 16 months ago against a retired fighter".

That being said Dana loooves Colby and will keep feeding him TS until he gets the belt or retire. And the UFC brass and also sherdoggers have an irresistible hate for Belal, so that even if he was promised the next TS he will probably won't get it.

They will say Shavkat has beaten Gastelum who had a close fight ith Izzy, it's the best accomplishment ever give him a TS

So to stay in the game I think Belal should take this fight. And Kamaru is looking to come back for that title and he has mentioned Belal's name after the Chimaev foght went flush.

I think they should put that fight as a co-main of the MSG card where they'll do Leon/Colby. It's even an insurance if either of the two gets injured.

What do you guys think of the idea ? Makes sense IMO
