Under new ownership is there a possibility that they might bring back a yearly-quarterly Grand Prix. Depending on weight classes ? Bellator recently had a one night tournament so I don't believe so I don't think it's the commission preventing 2 fights from happening in one night and I feel like they would be able to draw some huge numbers. Just imagine a lightweight/middleweight/welterweight tournament right now with the talent pool. Is there anything that's preventing it from happening ?

No

Great thread,. I would love to see some grand prix for money prizes , have an open wieght grand prix for 180 and under and another one for 185 and over.

With high money rewards we could get sum interesting fights

Jon Jones can barely drive on the street and now you want to put him on a circuit?

Lol with these current injuries and fighters pulling out nowadays?

Yes and they will call it Strikeforce.

NO, Grand Prix are a fantasy for fan boys. It isn't professional. Just totally unrealistic to think that this was a possibility.

What Bellator event allowed someone to fight twice in a night? I can't find one

I sure hope so, they can do it over a couple of cards to eliminate the multiple fights per night restrictions.

Na i hate grand prixs, doesn't really determine the best fighter.

No one gives a fuck about these except the nostalgic Pride fanbois The last one in strikeforce was a flop. Let them die already and just give us entertaining matches.

They wouldn't have kept Dana around for good if they had a vision for change, so I doubt it. These guys also don't have experience in mma promotion, WME deals with client management = contract negotiations for fighters. They're likely gonna leave matchmaking to the matchmakers and Dana. Or they want a say in everything and proceed to fuck-ups of epic proportions. Or they get lucky...
