Cowboy's name and career were used as a springboard for Conor's latest undeserved title shot, (which he whiffed on). In return, Cowboy, at the end of his run, with the wheels falling off, was given a 6 fight extension and a hefty 30% raise. That happens to almost no-one in the final days of their UFC career. While Cerrone may already have enough money, I doubt he will pass up the gift that the UFC wrapped up and gave to him for "fighting" Conor.
