With Aldo and Edgar on the same card...

With Aldo and Edgar on the same card as McGregor can we all agree that McGregor is ducking and the UFC is protecting him? There's no excuse. Neither one of them are injured, they are both scheduled to fight each other, will be on the same card as the champ, both deserve a title shot. But, Conor is not fighting them and instead is coming off a loss and is being given a gift rematch instead of defending his belt while Aldo and Edgar are forced to fight for an interim belt. The belt's only been defended 4 months ago. Why is there an interim?

Seriously, how can this be justified in a real and legitimate manner?
 
The UFC and Conor are gonna do everything they can to avoid Frankie.

They think throwing Aldo at him will work but Aldo is broken, Frankie will KO him,

First post nailed it. They're ducking Frankie in any way possible. He by far has the best chance at beating McGregor at 145

He wouldn't be gifted that shot at RDA with a loss to Frankie and no belt.

So he just completely avoids fighting Edgar instead.
 
I think he should defend his belt as much as the next guy but throwing him back in the cage with someone that choked him out is not protecting Conor. He's probably going to get tapped again. I don't think he's ducking Frankie. Let's be real here. If Conor were to beat Nate the first time, would he be facing Frankie at 200? No. He would either be facing RDA, Robbie or GSP. Having him fight for the interim title is best case scenario. While I agree Conor should defend his 145 belt, the rematch at 200 is bigger business. Cant be mad at a business for doing whats best for business. I favor Frankie in this match against Aldo and either that interim becomes the real belt if Conor doesnt go back or he beats Conor in a few months to unify the belts.

You can't lose your title if you don't actually put it on the line. That is where the "duck" comes into play. It is easy to stay champion when you don't accept fights in your own weight class.
 
How does Dana justify having an interim fight on the same card as the champ

Matt Hughes used to say you weren't a true champion until you defended it and at this rate Conor will never be the true champion
 
If Aldo outpoints Edgar again Conor will have the easier style matchup to deal with.

I think this is going to blow up in the UFC's face. Nate is going to beat Conor again, and Edgar very well could beat Aldo. It will be funny if Edgar beats Aldo then Diaz beats McGregor -- Conor might be facing three losses in a row. I hate that Edgar and Aldo have to fight again before either faces Conor.

Edgar / McGregor is the fight I want.

It would be hi-larious if Conor lost to Nate and Edgar. Three loses in a row would greatly finish his stock. I almost can't believe the UFC is setting up a match again where he could lose. I figure they'd rather go with an Aldo rematch as the safest bet after losing to Diaz.

What is he ducking exactly ?

Aldo, a guy that he KO's in 13 seconds? Frankie Edgar, another FW?

Instead he's fighting Nate Diaz who just embarassed him, and at WW on top of that. If McGregor was fighting Edgar I bet TS would've said he was ducking Nate.

You guys should stop throwing the word "ducking" at any occasions.
