Windy 14oz Proline review

No, of course they don't put it themselves. But this doesn't mean anything. You can order Fairtex with "handmade in Thailand" or without it for example.

Fighters Inc. are an official direct partner of Twins and Windy for decades, they always buy directly from the factory (there is only one Windy factory, isn't there?) in Thailand and in some countries they are even an exclusive distributor of these brands.

But I am honestly sorry some of you guys don't like them. I am not a huge fan of them either, as I stated in Strato's review btw, where I didn't share his impression (which is normal, since I have much mire fragile hands thna Strato), neither in case of the knuckle padding nor in case in the wrist support (as for the wrist support I simply cannot agree they are anywhere close to Tokushu, the are not).
Among Thai brands the only really well padded (fro knuckles) gloves are Twins imo

Above all these are probably just different batches, so you have no guarantee you would get a better pair if you order elsewhere (in the U.K. it might be a different batch already either).

I agree that Twins are well padded and great for sparring use, I use the Fairtex for their smaller form factor to help change things up. I was surprised at how hard the padding on the Windy Proline was and would not want to be hit by it. The foam was about 1/2 as thick as my Rival bag gloves and felt 3x harder.

To make the long story short, I am going to visit the local exclusive Windy distributor on tomorrow and test all proline colour variations (the one reviewed here, blue/black and red/black). Will let you know.

Take a look at the brown ones too, thats the ones I want to get. looking forward to hearing what you say.

i have boons too, they fit my small hands really good, have long cuff for great wrist support. but their padding is crappy, not durable at all. but stratocastor said in his review that in the latest version, where the BOON logo does not have a white oval background, the padding has been improved. i have the old version.

I have the new version and the padding isnt any different than the previous version I had.

Interesting. I have a couple pairs of old Boon's and they are still going strong. My favorite gloves to use.

Yeah I think if people blast them away on the bag, I think people are referring to the soft padding pretty much bottoming out quickly.

Agreed with Isaac, actually I cannot imagine a soft latex lasting a long time on a bag.

I really wanted to get 12oz or 14oz Windy gloves for my third pair because I've never seen anybody using these at the gym but it doesn't look that appealing after reading this. I thought they had big hand compartments from what I heard. As for the stiffness, don't all gloves eventually become stiff after extended use on bags and mitts?

I have them and love them. Bought off this very site. Cant beat the price.

As for stiffness...I find that the gloves loosen up after many bag rounds.

The hand compartment is a little on the larger side, which fits me great. I really like the look and feel of these. I almost want to get them in 16s for sparring.

I had an older pair of Windy's (16oz) and also found that the padding wasn't sufficient. I felt so guilty about using them for sparring (they were my only gloves at the time) that I sold them and bought a pair of Rivals.

So finally I had a chance to test different Windy prolines...
Red, blue and black.

1) no difference, in all color they are same
2) padding is rather dense (different densities sandwich, overal feels a bit denser than standard Windy bud basically very similar)
3) absoprtion is very, very poor, still fine for sparring but I would prefer my sparring partners wearing not these gloves, moreover the padding is pretty thin
4) lower oz. weights run very small
5) wrist support is pretty good, so is the overall construction

I cannot imagine myself buying these gloves tbh

That's too bad. I was looking for these for sparring. The TG-30s I have in 12 ounces are phenomenal. I may end up getting these in 16.

Just purchased the windy 12 oz bgvh gloves, and I agree that at first the compartment is too tight and would very uncomfortable especially for pad work.

But after 3 days of breaking it in, all is good. Padding, leather and velcro works fine
for me.

8/10 imo
