They are pushing it very hard in this underhanded way, basically forcing people to upgrade whether they want it or not. You can still go back to 8 or 7 if you roll it back within a month. They are going to go to a pay based windows update system, so this is all about $. If you roll back to your old operating system, you can use the following free utility to make sure you are not upgraded against your will again:

I've avoided the subversive windows 10 upgrade. You just need to actually read the window and avoid clicking the largest, most prominent button. My friends who use 10 tell me it's like an operating system skinned to look like Android. Some sort of cowardly millennial bullshit, you ask me.
