since forever. As long as the reason the doc stops the fight is caused by the other fighter.
If there was an accidental foul that caused a cut or swelling it wouldnt be called a TKO.
 
Always. While we're on the subject, I'd prefer they list submissions due to strikes as TKOs. It's a bit misleading statistically.

No it's not. If you're aware enough to tap to stop the beating, then you weren't technically knocked out.

T = Technical = not unconcious. You're not 'technically knocked out' when a doctor stops the fight between rounds either.

Listing it as a submission makes it seem as though it was finished by a choke or joint lock.

If they literally tap from strikes they technically are submitting, but I see where your coming from
