The draws have been made and can be perused here. Qualification is complete and the tournament proper starts on Monday the 27th and ends on Sunday the 10th of July. Russian and Belarussian players are banned, including Daniil Medvedev, ranked #1, and Aryna Sabalenka, ranked #4, meaning the WTA and ATP will not award ranking points to participants. 'Woke' Wimbledon has also dropped the titles from before female players' names.

Who's going to be watching Wimbledon? And do you have any picks to win? Djokovic is favourite for a reason but I'm just hoping the British players do well. Andy Murray starts against James Duckworth and the press is saying he should feel no pressure. Cameron Norrie is the UK's best chance on paper. Emma Raducanu is about as British as the Eiffel Tower so I don't count her. Rafael Nadal is #1 for Grand Slams at 22 and will be looking to make it 23 (Djokovic has 20). Strawberries and cream?

Not too much stands out from the draw. If I had to make a pick, it would be Novak. I'm hoping Nadal wins or an outside shot of Auger-Aliassime. I'm not as familiar with the women's side these days, but Swiatek seems extremely hard to beat right now. It would be nice to see Serena go deep and make things interesting.

Rooting for a djokovic and Nadal finals with Nadal prevailing. Gotta give Djokovic some motivation once Nadal retires…

Damn can the Joker still win?

Many will be pleased to learn that Emma Raducanu, in her first match on Centre Court, defeated Alison von Uytvank (Belgian), ranked 46th, in straight sets (6-4, 6-4). Next opponent is Caroline Garcia (France) on Wednesday.

Andy Murray has currently just started the third set (4-6, 6-3) against Duckworth (Aus).

Novak beat Kwon (South Korea) in 4 sets (6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4), didn't look great but he won, and is playing Australian Kokkinakis also on Wednesday.

Andy Murray beats James Duckworth (Aus) 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4! Will Play John Isner (USA) on Wednesday. They are 8-0 in career encounters.

Edit: Isner is on a career total of 13,688 aces and has his eyes on the record, 13,728, held by Ivo Karlovic. He hit 54 aces today in his victory over Enzo Couacaud.

Edit: P.S. Cameron Norrie also beat Andujar (Spain) 6-0, 7-6, 6-3 and faces another Spaniard, Jaume Munar, on Wednesday.

I just watched this one and saw Murray perform a surprise underhand serve, something I've never seen before in tennis. He surprised Ducksworth, even though he returned it, Murray was able to get an overhand slam at the end.

Here's to quick exits for Serena and Naomi. can't stand either of them. I was listening t some sports radio the other day and they talked about serena for a few minutes. the guy is sitting there saying how serena has personified class throughout her career despite all the obstacles and racism she has faced until this day. \what? has there ever been a player more coddled than she? and class? ducking drug tests, threatening to kill officials and throwing a tantrum when osaka beat her for her first win. total class.

i do think i like coco gauff. nice start to her career. also like sakkari

on the men's side, i just don't want nadal and his ass picking. maybe alcara has fully arrived and ushers in a new era

Osakan isn’t playing. Lol at this though

https://www.outkick.com/naomi-osaka...-due-to-explicit-translation-of-company-name/

The name of the four-time Grand Slam champion’s production company is what has sparked the controversy. Osaka, who was born in Japan, told the New York Times earlier this week that Hana Kuma means “flower bear” in Japanese.

That doesn’t seem to be worthy of much controversy, because it’s not. An explicit translation of the name is what has created the controversy. In Swahili, Hana Kuma has a much different meaning than ‘flower bear’.

Hana Kuma in Swahili translates to “woman without a vagina.” The explicit translation sparked outrage and caused Hana Kuma to trend in several African countries. Some questioned how they didn’t know about this translation and others have called for Osaka to rename the company.
