Will you going to see Melania?

Kinda silly to toss this thing in a the movie theaters. If it was free and on Netflix eventually I might see it. I hope they didn't think it was make money because there is no real demograph this would cater to.

Edit: Actually since it's a documentary, most of the footage was already free and available. So it was made on a shoe string budget.

Besides the 40 million for the rights and 35 million for marketing right?

I'll just leave this here. ;)

And no, I've no intention of watching it. But apparently a lot of people think differently.

Got to be the same people who wore diapers in support of Trump.

I need to figure out some kind of grift on these people lol.

From list of most expensive documentaries, cost adjusted for inflation

The World at War (1973 – 26 Episodes) | Budget: $17.6m
Planet Earth (2006 – 11 Episodes) | Budget: $25m
The Vietnam War (2017 – 10 Episodes) | Budget: $39.4m
Melania (2026) | Budget: Est. $40m
Earth (2007) | Budget: $47m

Earth's $47m, you may have noticed, is even more than Amazon paid for Melania. But the difference with Earth is that it took some five years and countless hours of travelling, filming and editing to create its vivid portrait of our planet and its delicate ecosystems.

Melania, on the other hand, was shot over the course of 20 days, with Brett Ratner staying at the Trumps’ luxury Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida and following its subject around as she attends various official functions and generally lives a life of gilded luxury.

Not just that, she's completely uninteresting and vapid.

Oh, she's really big into fashion? That's about the most odious industry there is. Unless there's some drama involved like in the Gucci story, no one gives a shit.

MAGA's base are rural, (angry) white guys with a high school education. A super rich immigrant with a thick accent and a love for fashion probably isn't gonna play well.

Oh'Rly .......... Well some of them Angry white guys got themselves some Russian mail order brides that love themselves some of that ........

Just for giggles ive checked out every theatre in my area to see if anyone's seeing it. Every showing has been empty except the 630pm showing tonight.

God bless the 4 people going tonight. Although their seating choice of front row is baffling.

Not to them,

Not to them…

you didn't hear her speech on opening night?

'friends, family and (last but not least) cultural iconoclasts', that's who!

I think its so cute that somebody taught her the word iconoclast and told her if she used it people would think she's really smart and uses words like 'iconoclast' in her daily conversation.

She speaks 5 languages fluently, you know. Or is it 7, or 9? Definitely a polyglot, as well as a polymath. Don't ever say those Einstein visas aren't bringing in the finest minds.

Don't be dense; nearly everyone in Europe speaks 2 or 3.

She was born in a country that had 3 official languages and a heavy Russian influence. Add in English and most likely French and Italian do to her modeling.

Strangely enough, it did.

Top documentary box office on opening in a decade. Audience reviews 90%+ positive. It's likely a whole lot of MAGA, but it counts, and they did well. I can see how seeing behind the scenes may be interesting, but I avoid the movie theaters unless it's an amazing movie. My wife wanted to go and thank God for the UFC Fights tonight, although I may get forced into it soon enough. I hope it's not in the theaters too long.
Who are you trying to fool? You bought 23 tickets for opening night for you, your extended family and your Senior Surfer Sundays club buddies while also gifting everybody a copy of "The Art Of The Deal".

You mean other than Michelle Obama?

Pretty sure a Princeton and Harvard law graduate and then a practicing lawyer before being married....

I'd say thats a heck of a lot more accomplished than whatever nonsense they have invented when re-writing Melania's past. She was basically a model when she met Trump back in 98 and that's about it.

I wouldn't call modelling a "Field"

The guy you responded to said top of her field.

Not knocking her, but MO was a low level lawyer working on intellectual property for a year and a half. I dont think anyone would say she was anywhere near the top of her field.

Then it should be easy to find a ton of model pics of her.
Also she was paid 20K for her first 10 jobs in the US.
Before she came to US she is claimed to be a fashion model. I know its the 90ties but a high end model should be making more than 2K a job..

Not defending her, but she made 20k for 2 - 4 weeks work in the mid 90s and you don't think that's successful?

If you spent your time and money to go watch a melania doc....somethings wrong with you.

If you let your wife drag you to a theater to go watch a melania doc...you're the chump we all pity but laugh at during work hours.

Oddly, I searched the nearest theater and looked at ticket sales. The same 6 seats; not good seats and not beside each other either, are sold for every show.

No more than 3 other seats for any showing except Sunday afternoon where a total of 15 seats were sold.
