From what I read on the main page, "there is no guarantee" Tony will have a belt to defend when he comes back.

No matter what happens its fucking stupid.

Basically there are three alternatives:

One - Conor gets stripped but somehow the inteirm champion isn’t promoted to full champion and full belt is fought for by two individuals who aren’t the full champion or the inteirm champion.

Two - Ferguson gets promoted to full champion because he’s injured (this won’t happen)

Three - Ferguson gets stripped because he pulled out of one fight which is not the standard anyone else it put up to.

The entire thing is and has always been fucked up.

If Max and Khabib are fighting for the real belt, why would Tony get to be interim? If there is a healthy champ ready to defend, there is no need for an interim belt. It makes more sense to eliminate the interim belt and instead give Tony a title shot once he's healthy again.

If he needs surgery he is out long term. Returning within a year would be lucky. There’s no way he can keep an Interim Title if he’s out for at least a year.

He fucked up on a massive scale here. I believe his really shitty training methods are the biggest cause of this injury.
