I believe the UFC has one currently, as they've used it for Semmy Schilt and Barnett I think. But will there ever be a point where they will need to make it an official division due to a large number of 265+ pound guys coming into the sport?

I think it can happen in the next 25 years. MMA is super young (not even 25 years old yet), so I don't feel it's unrealistic to think bigger athletes will come into the sport within a generation. It'll be necessary when athletic seven footers learn to fight.

Shitty Heavyweight? Good idea. Put all the fatties and way-over-the-hill fighters in there.

Not anytime soon. Would like a 220 division first. But don't hold your breath. Dana doesn't seem interested in changing up the classes...

ufc hw title cannot lay claim to the baddest man in the planet with a hw limit.
the shertards claiming it would be full of fatso's who gas in the first round have limited intellect. They would not make it to the ufc in the first place. duh!!!
there are enough big athletes around to make the hw title openweight.

It would be a real thin division, but I would watch the Shit out of it.

SHW’s = 745B5D64-9437-4615-B706-E79143A111F5.gif

How about just have no weight limit at hw, like it should be.

I hope the UFC does make that division...but only if they move the HW limit down to 225 or 230 and then have SHW for everyone above that.

They did have one SHW fight. Gan McGee fought someone.

They should just make HW unlimited

Hard to be able to fight for 15 minutes at that weight with USADA around

When genetically modified humans start coming out there will be.

Add a 225 Cruiserweight division and bump the Heavyweight limit up to 285 - no need for Super Heavyweight.

Would love to see a 210 - 220 lb division. All the power of HWs, with the speed of LHWs.

Cruiserweight 225.

Yea and get rid of lhw... That's the only way it'd work

Yes, when UFC merges with the Sherdog forums

High school wrestling has a ceiling of 285 lbs.

They could move 265 to 285
