Will the manufacturing go back to America?

It is already starting to return. The cost of doing business in China keeps rising significantly, and rising shipping costs, have made a lot of companies reevaluate making things in the USA.

As a global percentage, US manufacturing has shrunk in its share. However as far as total output goes, US manufacturing has actually been increasing. It's just that China is rising so quickly that "dey tukk er jerbs" crowd started sounding the alarms. Manual intensive low-end segment of manufacturing will not be coming back, and even that has started to move away from China. As long as the US occupies the top of the food chain in the industrial sector (aerospace, electronics etc), it will be golden.

US manufacturing is, as others have said, still in a very strong position.

The reason it doesn't feel that way is because it takes less jobs to manufacture stuff.

My dad has a successful company
A year ago he would laugh at the idea of manufacturing his products in china. He just went to china a month ago . When he came back he was freaking out saying we need to start manufacturing here. He says prices are exploding over there and thinks its going to continue.
